How To Automate Your Tweets Using IFTTT | CB's Guide

Twitter is a great source of traffic for your website that allows you to tap into the excitement of a topic. The problem is that no one has the time to be on Twitter 24/7.

This is where an automation tool like IFTTT (If This Then That) can come in really handy. If you haven't heard of IFTTT, it allows you to connect to many different site, applications, smart devices and automate conditional actions if the criteria is met. Let's look at a Twitter example.

Linking Reddit and Twitter

From the main page, click 'Create'. This will take you to the app creation screen shown above. Then click on 'Add'.

You will see tons of apps to connect to and it can be a little overwhelming at first. Scroll down to 'Reddit' and click on it.

Choose your 'trigger', which is basically the condition to get the app working. I selected 'new hot post in subreddit'. You will need to grant permission for IFTTT to access your reddit account. I recommend creating a dummy reddit account for this purpose. Then select the subreddit you want to monitor and create the trigger.

Next, you will have to add the 'then that' portion. In this example, it will be Twitter.

Select either Post a Tweet or Post a Tweet with Image. You will need to authorize IFTTT to access your Twitter account. You can then modify how you would like to structure your Tweet:

Finally, create the action and you're done!

I hope my fellow bloggers and affiliate marketers find this tutorial useful on how they can automate their tweets by monitoring the latest trends on reddit.
