Remember Your Customers

I had a little reminder about the personal touch today when my husband returned from picking up our lawnmower from a tune-up. Keith said the owner remembered that we used to have another mower, the same brand. This owner also mentioned a mutual friend. My husband, the good professor, is not often impressed, but he truly enjoys doing business with somebody who talks about us and our lawnmower like old friends.

Are you a craftsman who takes joy in the quality service you provide? Go the extra mile to connect with your customers. It only takes a moment to say little things like "How's your mama doing?" or " Glad this product fixed your problem." People like being treated as individuals.

Success to you all! (Or as the Klingons say, "Qapla'!")

Yes, that is why I often try to find smaller local shops whenever possible. For the personal touch, plus I like to hold the product in my hands whenever possible.

Great advice everyone in any type of business, whether online or offline should remember. I think it's especially true when engaging in affiliate marketing. You can't just treat someone as if they were only a referral, customer number, or contract number. LIke you said, doesn't take but a second to say "hi. glad to meet you. thanks..."

Going one step further, everyone is a customer of someone at some point. The shop owner is also a customer of the company he purchases his supplies and tools from. So treat everyone the way you'd like to be treated. New and repeat business may be on the horizon.
