Creating Content vs. Consuming It Trial and Error For me.png

Not sure, being a Gemini; if my approach to certain things have been a detriment, but truth be told I'm not into Astrology.

My fiancé is and it's hard for me to argue that many traits I possess align with the sign. There isn't much of an argument to be had in that respect.

On my journey to growing an online business, specifically next level affiliate marketing success; I grapple with some of my approaches.

It took me several bumps and bruises to begin doing things the right way and to realize how important it is to brand YOU first, to create YOUR own content, build a list, track your advertising and a lot of the things that puts an affiliate marketer in a great position to succeed.

As an upgraded CLICK.TRACK.PROFIT member, one of the tools we have is the Plus1Success "It's a 30 day plan to dramatically change your online business and life for good!" So mulling these back and forth is aided by modules like what is in this plan.

In the Plus1Success plan it touches on taking a little time to read:

10. Read A Chapter In A Book

I have been following @jongolson for a long time and I know how important it is to him to carve out time to read, as much as possible.

There is no doubt, that every person I know or I am related to that takes reading seriously are very intelligent and/or are very disciplined in whatever they are working towards or looking to enhance.

I can see the importance of that, but putting it into a different scope and more for this particular post is the trap that many of us fall into when wanting to earn an income online.

Content is king

We have to be careful of not allowing the consumption of content to dominate our time. Personally, I live by the trial and error model. I learn by doing. Yes, not always the best approach.

Unfortunately, it's very difficult for me to listen and take notes in abundance; when I just want to get into the trenches and just do it and then when I make mistakes, which I will and plenty of them - it sticks with me.

I'm sure there are many of us with that approach and I do believe there should be a balance, but not an even split. More like create to consume 60/40.

I know there isn't a right or wrong answer and that it is subjective, but it had me thinking; Isn't it the consumption that actually drives the creation? If so, why do I still believe it should be creation over consumption?
