Need Your Opinion Please
This should be a fairly short post. I am writing it to get as many opinions as I can on a point of view as I can. But before I ask your opinion, I have a discovery to share. I write my posts in WordPress and let WordSteem send it Steemit for me. I learned yesterday that the 'Featured Image' option in WordPress does not transfer to Steemit. Those of you that use WordPress and WordSteem probably already knew this but I learned yesterday when the image I used with the post did not show up in Steem. Live and learn, keeps life interesting.
OK, now for the point of view that Needs your opinion. (I wish there was a poll option for posts in Steem but if there is I can't find a reference to it.)
ClickTrackProfit has a feature called the Gauntlet. The purpose of the Gauntlet is to get other CTP members criticism of personally developed pages for use on the internet in one's business. The Gauntlet provides a great way to perfect internet pages in a somewhat controlled environment. The Gauntlet is not intend to be an advertising platform.
HitsConnect is an ad tracking and rotator system which provides detailed statistics. HitsConnects is used to track your traffic and results by generating a tracking url to use for advertising. In general, it used to help improve your online advertising efforts. HitsConnect is the recommended tracking system for ClickTrackProfit members to use.
Your Opinion Please
HitsConnect urls do not work in the CTP Gauntlet. With which of the following to you agree.
- HitsConnect should work in the Gauntlet since it is the recommended tracking software
- HitsConnect doesn't have to work in the Gauntlet since the Gauntlet isn't intended for advertising
- Another option I haven't thought of

I vote number 2. The Gauntlet is not an advertising platform, so what exactly is there that needs to be tracked? The Gauntlet tells you how many people have viewed the page you add and it also gives you detailed information on votes as well as all of the reviews for that page.
If there is nothing that is to be tracked, why track it? And if you are not upgraded or do not have unlimited tracking capability in HitsConnect, why would you waste one of your trackers on The Gauntlet?
I agree with Blain, the Gauntlet is not an Advertising platform.
All the information you get from the comments and ratings on your pages in the Gauntlet should be put into practice on the pages you put in your tracker. Then split test for the best results and use the trackers for what they are intended for.
My vote goes for number 2!
Yes, Hitsconnect is the recommended tracking in CTP but doesn't make any sense in using in The Gauntlet!
The Gauntlet it's only for give and receive feedback!
I personally prefer and almost only give stars for those who show their own personal Lead Capture Page, branding themselves! Unless it's a splash page that I know it's from the owner!
After you get enough feedback and you feel that your page is improved enough to throw it outside, then add the page to Hitsconnect and track!
The Gauntlet is already kind of tracking itself by the star rates and reviews.
So it is a waste of tracking url when you could use it in other places.

Opinion
Yes the Gauntlet is a place to test the waters in a safe environment and get critiques from other members that are on the same path so to speak. These are all people that are learning along with you
I don't believe that you need Hits Connect URLs in the gauntlet, you do not need to be tracking your page in the Gauntlet.
The Gauntlet lets you know how many times your page has been seen and what comments others leave, that's all you need to know
Once you have come up with a recipe people like then you can put it into a hits connect url and start promoting it and tracking it etc etc
3 --> HitsConnect doesn't have to work (or shouldn't work) because you are INSIDE your member area and all data INSIDE it should be private and "no-trackable" for any software from OUTSIDE...
Number 2, the gauntlet is not for advertising, and allowing tracking would allow even more spam than we already have, in the gauntlet everything that is not an LCP is spam.
