Short and Sweet #15 - One Against The Other
One of the most important things we can do as marketers is to find the right promotion that works for the right audience
This can often be a very different format or design depending on the audience that we are catering to.
How do we know what works for one and not the other?
I would suggest that you create at least 3 designs of the one Marketing / List building page and then split test them to see which ones get the most click through rate.
Of course, to ascertain the click through rate you need to be monitoring how many clicks a particular page gets.
The best way to do this is to track your promotions and then see a comparison as to which pages work best and where.
This is called Split Testing and should be a primary activity you do when considering promoting anything.
Being able to track your pages at various different promotional sites is paramount to having a successful advertising campaign
If you are not Split Testing and Tracking your promotions, then you are missing out on some great stats that can help you push your business into a successful one.

A gauntlet is an awesome tool that only a few experienced marketers use as it should... And, as I can see from their response, they get a ton of great reviews which helps in creation of "the perfect LCP" :)
The gauntlet is great Russell, and getting a lot of great feedback from it, even if a lot of people don't use it the right way, in my own experience the best feedback comes from Premium Views, stay awesome.
Hi 2flax - yes the premium views are great as is the spotlight, I do dispair at times at some of the ages put up. it would seem that some still see it as a promotional place rather than a feedback place :)
Thanks Russell, yeah the fact is that it's both, even if the purpose is to get feedback many people do sign up if they really like what they see, and regardless of that you are showing off your skill and building your brand, but aside from that we do need some kind of system where sites that do not belong there is removed, stay awesome.
