Short and Sweet #9 - Slow and Steady Wins the Race

As mentioned in previous post, I have been doing a great deal of driving, quite a lot over the past 5 years but even more over the past 3 weeks.

Her in Aus, its nothing to jump in the car and spend 6 hours driving just to spend a day somewhere, there can be a lot of distance between one place and another.

While driving I contemplate all the mad drivers that have to speed everywhere and then either come to a complete stop as they get pulled up by a Police car or slow right down because the come across traffic. Only to be caught up by the cars they have just passed a while back.

This sort of behaviour reminds me greatly of the Tortoise and the Hare story.

It is those that take their time and stay at a consistent speed that end up getting there first.

Look at some of the greatest Motorcycle Riders and C5r Racers, those that have a consistent smooth action get around the track faster than those that have bursts of speed and end up getting offline on bends or having to slow down too much to make it.

This very behaviour is mirrored when working on your business, one can charge ahead only to find a roadblock slows them down or one can plod along at a consistent pace and find that their successes are far greater and more regular.

So no matter what your business is, take your time and it will still be there tomorrow, be consistent and work at a pace that demonstrates smooth progress, its all well and good to have an instant fix of incoming activity, but if it is short lived then there is no sustainability.

Work consistently at a pace that demonstrates good business growth and your business will continue to grow.
If your business is list building, its all well and good to get 25 subscribers in a day and jump up and down for joy, but you need to think about what is going to bring you daily signups.

I have had a list now initially had a mass influx and now gives me at least 4 subscribers a day, without having to do anything at all – every day- that’s (Excuse my Math) 1425 subscribers a year, I have been building this list for 8 years, consistently, that’s 11,392 subscribers at 4 a day. I know this is just a pin prick in the major scheme of things, but it is a list of interested people, people who are prepared to engage.

Things don’t happen overnight they take time and commitment to continuing efforts I have other lists that are not as yet effective, but I know over time they will become just as effective if not more so.

Don’t get disheartened if things seem to go slowly, if they continue at that rate they will accumulate over time and before you know it you will start to show successes for your efforts.

Just look at this process of acumulating CTP Tokens, one day its 0 and before you know it you have achieved the roa to 5000

I couldn't agree more Russell, list building is not a race it a slow and steady process.

CTP tokens accumulation was easy and it's easy... all you have to do is to create content and show up... You will receive upvotes and you can accumulate tokens...

For me, the problem is list building... but I'm doing the tortoise strategy... :)
