Short and Sweet - The Honour System of Contextual content

Here’s a Rant – a Self-Indulgence - you don’t get them too much from me 😊

Back in the day of Bulletin boards one of the downfalls that I used to experience was non contextual content.

I would visit a bulletin board to do with coding for instance and I would have to scroll down a few pages of content on gaming before actually finding a post on coding. Yes, the Bulletin Boards had moderators and moderators did the best job they could to filter and redirect. But it still spoilt the experience for me to struggle to find ‘on context’ content.

I get it, In this wonderful world of Crypto currency and the freedom that the Steem Blockchain gives us all and the fact that just for writing a few words there is a great chance that you will receive some sort of currency that you can then transpose into very real spendable currency. This is a blessing and one that should be embraced.

However, I implore people to stay on context. There are many different tribes and currencies out there, all have value, all can be transposed, and all can be used to further your ability to post more, comment more, upvote more and even spend more.

Choose your content wisely, make sure that you post your content into an area where it is received the best. Keep your content in the context of the place you post it. There are some great tribes out there that will just love your post on Fried banana and will reward you handsomely, there are some great tribes that love your posts on waterlilies in a lake on a hot summer’s day, they will reward you well.

When I go to a certain group/tribe to read content on the topic of that tribe, I want to see content on that topic, I don’t enjoy having to endlessly scroll before I find any. It ruins the experience for me, It ruins the experience for others.

Get over it they say, just move on, you don’t have to look at the posts that are not on context, - Sure, but when I find myself scrolling for ever more just to find something on context, then I tend to not want to even engage anymore.

When I know that a great poster has posted something and I have to scroll down and down and down to find it, it gets a little bothersome.

Its great to see so many really good posters posting excellent material and I enjoy reading those that stay on Topic so keep it up.

I urge people to post as much as they can on Topic and hopefully it will discourage those posting about their hot bananas in a group on Investment (unless of course it is about investing in Bananas) or in a group about crypto currency or in a group about Affiliate marketing and or business.

Don’t get me wrong I like Bananas, but when I want to see posts on them I will go to a group whose context includes Bananas.

And Yes I get the Irony that this post isn’t just in a group that loves Rants. However, the context of this post is inclusive, and I believe appropriate to all.
