What does PTC stand for?

When you are looking for ways to make money online without a financial investment on your part, your choices are limited. Since we talked about investment programs yesterday, I'll start be saying that there are a few (very few) what I call starter investment sites that you can join for free that you can use to begin earning a small amount that can be reinvested. But most of them are not sustainable and just won't be around very long. If you get in early, you might be able to earn enough for a small stake in an investment program that has a small initial investment before the starter program falls apart. We will go over a few starter investment programs later, but that is beyond the scope of this article. The other options that are easy to find and easy to use are PTC programs, faucets, and some traffic exchanges. We touched a bit on traffic this past Tuesday. I will go more into traffic exchanges during our Traffic Tuesday posts. I will talk about PTCs today and faucets tomorrow.

In case this is a new term for you, PTC stands for Paid To Click. It is a way that advertisers entice people view their ads/site. You are paid a small amount (generally the equivalent of a few satoshis [less than a penny]) for each site that you view. Each site usually has a minimum amount you must accumulate before you can withdraw your earnings, so it takes from a few days to a few weeks to get enough to pull your money out. This is why we try to focus on sites with low Withdrawal Minimums and lots of ads. Like starter investment programs, we will be taking the income we generate from these PTC sites and reinvesting into low cost investment programs. The main difference between the starter investment site and the PTC sites is that the PTC sites are usually viable and will probably be around much longer, so there is less likelihood that our efforts will be in vane.

There are other similar options that I generally don't bother with. One is PTP (Paid to Promote). PTP is when you are paid a small amount to promote the link of a site you have joined. These pay about the same as PTC, but I believe these are a waste of your advertising budget because these are the types of sites I want to promote. There are also Short Links. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why they call the "short" because you generally have to wade through several pages of ads which include captchas, pop-ups, and opening new windows (sometimes these are porngraphic) and they don't usually pay any more than PTC ads. You can also get into surveys and offers. These normally pay more than PTC ads, but they take a lot longer and I prefer not do divulge that much personal information to total strangers.

So, that is my brief explanation of PTC programs and why we use them. I hope this was informational and beneficial for you. Tomorrow, I will look into faucets.

Until next time...keep earning,

Garrey C. Dunn, Jr.

This is definitely something that many people don’t understand. Things like this take time and dedication but it can work. There’s a couple people on here, granted they don’t live in the United States but they make their money solely on here and do well for themselves.

I would love to help you on here, I do hesitate though, are you a legitimate user on here? We tend to get some bots so I get a little skeptical. I’ve been burned a couple times in the past!

Look forward to connecting with you and see what I can do to help you along.

The last time I checked, I was still breathing. While I am a new user (I just joined Hive last week), I am a "legitimate user". Granted, I do port my posts over through Steempress, but I do write each one myself.

I'm very glad that you're a breathing person! Sorry, we have a fair amount of people here to just milk rewards. I'd like to help as many people as I can but I also have to be selective and do what I can to help those that will actually need it and not just around for a couple weeks to cash out a quick buck.

That being said though, I think you being here is one of the best first steps you can have! There are a lot of awesome things happening here. We have our share of issues but that's the case with anything, really. One of the best things for most people is the communities that are happening.

You can check out communities for so many of the things you're interested in. There is a decent religious community here. They tend to spam lots of posts with their stuff but if you go into their community and engage with them, I think you will enjoy it as will they. Not many engage with them, I think, because of the sheer number of comments they drop spreading their message.

There are a couple great communities around family as well to check out.

All of that being said though, as I mentioned in my other comment last night, the best way to ensure success here is to get around and talk with as many people as you can, in a thoughtful manner. If you engage with people they will very often enjoy it and chat back and forth, give you votes and gain some followers and expand your brand. One of the guys on here that's very good with branding is nonameslefttouse. He is great at branding and keeping things original, I've learned some stuff from him and his posts.

Not to make the comment too long, I will end it there but look forward to engaging with you more!

That's awesome. I haven't heard of CTP before, and was very curious what the acronym stood for. I will see what I can do to help out with him and with the CTP group!

Garrey, I am one of those people who spent a lot of money a received very little return. I make more now just posting on the Hive than I ever did with any program. I love this post and am going to repost it. Thanks

Don't get me wrong, but I have to agree with @rcaine about this... Writing a solid article here on HIVE and CTPTalk can get you way more than you can earn by clicking all day...

I understand that this whole PTC, TE industry was big in the past and that there were no other ways to earn money, but times are changing... and you have arrived in the best time to catch the train of the blockchain/cryptocurrency revolution...

Also, the combination of the past and the future can be a great mix... we will see what will happen... ;)

Welcome!

I have a membership to Inbox Dollars and Send Earnings! Haven't been doing any email clicking for a long time. And I don't usually do the offers because most of the time it isn't stuff I want to be bothered with. And I don't like that they take forever to pay

I don't bother with offers, either. I can understand about having to wait so long for payments. I have been able to find a few with fairly low minimums and lots of ads so that I can withdraw to my FaucetPay wallet every day or so, but those are few and far between. I keep my eye out for new ones, though.
