Where Do I Get Referrals?

So...you have joined a program that is going to make you rich. But you can't make all of that money from just your own efforts. By helping other people get rich, they help you get rich. Isn't that the way it goes?

Even though I am being a bit facetious, there is some truth in the fact that most affiliate programs that create wealth utilize referral marketing. This is where a LOT of people flounder. They just don't know how to find other like-minded people that want to join the program they are promoting. I will try in this article to lay a simplified foundation to help you understand the principles of traffic.

Have you ever bought some new gadget that really excited you and when you brought it home and showed it to your spouse of your neighbor or your friend and they were less than impressed by it? This is because you were not showing to someone with an interest similar to yours. This on one of the main principles that you need to consider when looking for referrals. The name of the game is to market to people that will be interested in your product or service. In order to do that, you must get those targeted leads to see your site or ad. This is where traffic gets tricky. You have to know where like minded people hang out. If you are looking to sell to crafters, you have to find sites where crafters hang out and possibly purchase some ad space. If you want to sell to online marketers, you could utilize a site that presents email or PTC ads to them. If you try to market your craft supplies to online marketers, you will probably have very little success.

The other thing to consider is what type of marketing best speaks to your audience. I wrote a blog several days ago called Types of Advertising I Use that you can refer to if you'd like more information on some of the different types of marketing that are available to you, so I won't go into all of that here. Just be aware that where Facebook Ads might speak more to crafters, email marketing might do better with online entrepreneurs. If you have not spent a whole lot of time marketing, you may have to do some research in order to find which type of advertising should work best with your audience.
