#DoNotBreakTheChain no. 1 - Showing up and doing it

[In the video above I promised that I'd post this link below the video, so here is the contact form for my site: https://robwillmann.com/how-can-i-help-you-grow-your-business/ ]

Do what you love and it doesn't feel like work.

I enjoy writing blog posts. I like writing pretty much anything except emails. Emails suck. The rest is enjoyable.

Therefore when I work on writing blog posts (like this), I have fun and it doesn't feel like work.

When it comes to writing, try to sound natural and in your head imagine that you are speaking to a close friend. If you write with that voice in mind, you will sound natural and the words will come out.

For the rest, set up challenges.

OK, so for the rest of the 'work' that goes into running an online business, you need to have a way to make it challenging so that you're not bored.

I use different challenges (such as this app - http://www.themostdangerouswritingapp.com/ that deletes what you write if you stop for 3 seconds) as a way to force myself to try to win at a challenge.

You can also set up a timer to try to do a task faster than you've ever done it before. Anything that makes you think will work.

Stick to it. #DoNotBreakTheChain

Now comes the part that most people don't like to hear:

You are not going to make a large amount of money without effort. You have to put in the work.

This means that you have to 'show up' to your online business just like you would a brick and mortar job. Ask Jon O.

As yourself this: Would you keep an employee that only occassionally shows up? Probably not.

Likewise, how can you think the same thing about your own effort towards making a living online? You can't.

If you want to succeed at this online game, you have to put in the effort daily. There's lots of ways to do this.

I recommend one that @LisaMGentile1961 introduced me to in a book recommendation called "Consistency is the New Currency".

In essence this book teaches you to show up each and every day and work towards a specific direction as a goal, and to mark a calendar with an X for each day that you show up and work toward the right direction.

For me, it's writing emails. Therefore I use tools to help me like the idea to "#DoNotBreakTheChain".

It's realistically that simple. Create a plan.

Work it daily. Every day show up and do the work.

It builds momentum, which is better than motivation.

How Can I Help?

I would love to help you succeed with your online goals. Just below this video is a link to my blog where you can fill out a form and tell me how I can help you succeed.

That's it for today, and I appreciate you watching me type out this email, and video. :)

Peace and Love,

-Rob

That was an interesting video... :) Maybe you can add some music to it next time... :)

#DoNotBreakTheChain is the essence of consistency... And totally agree with you about it... It's hard on the beginning, but it gets easier later...

Yeah, I thought about that after I published it. I could've sped it up and then added sound. That may have helped.

Yeah, it's taking me some effort to get some items done, and autoresponder emails is one of them. However, if I want to succeed at this, I just have to 'knuckle down' and just do it.
