#2020Vision Challenge #22 - Walking 7600 Steps to Yamaya and Back!

For today's #2020Vision Challenge I to walk to Yamaya discount liquor store, buy some provisions, and walk back home in Rakurakuen, Hiroshima.

I was on a mission to buy cheese: Cheddar, Emmental, Halvati, Gouda and maybe some Brie or Danish Blue. One of the disadvantages of living in Japan is that supermarkets do not offer a good range of cheese. However, Yamaya, an import and discount liquor store, does stock a range of cheese and offers them at a discount of 3 packs for ¥ 1000 (about $11).

However, Yamaya's supply of cheese is a bit patchy... Would I be in luck or not?

It turns out to be approximately 3800 steps there, and 3800 back! I didn't follow the most direct route and stopped at Itsukaichi Fukuya to buy some Typhoo tea bags.

My walk took me over a bridge and part of the way along a river...

Looking back, you can see the bridge that I crossed...

When I got to Yamaya I was a bit disappointed to find that there was no Cheddar, but at least there were 3 packs of Emmental so I could get the 3-for-¥1000 discount, along with 3 packs of Danish Blue. I also bought coffee and cereal.

On the way home I bought some bread. So, altogether, my walk turned out to be quite productive beyond the exercise and fresh air!

22/61 challenges completed! Can I get the next 39 challenges done before Easter??

Also, 8 days off the booze, 2 day on! Tonight I'm going out and will probably enjoy a tipple!
