Ecency Website vs Ecency Desktop. My opinion...

Good day everyone!

Today I would like to talk about Ecency platform. I was using Esteem, and now Ecency because it offers some features that I like.

I mainly use the desktop app, because I spend more time working on my laptop than the phone. But I usually check the feed, upvote or comment from the mobile app. At least, because it is less buggy than the desktop version. Sometimes the desktop app is terrible to use. It doesn't load pages or comments. Or, it just works super slow.

A couple of days ago I learned that Ecency has a website version too. Well, maybe it was since Esteem, have no idea. I didn't check the website for ages.

So, I decided to try it. And here is my impression after a couple of days...

1. It is much less buggy than the desktop version!
2. The interface looks the same as desktop ver.

But there are a few things I missing here...

1. I couldn't upload a picture using Copy/Paste. When I click Ctrl+V to paste the picture to my post, nothing happens. So I had to use another way to do it.

2. That point is slightly connected to the previous one. Well, I think it is impossible or hard to do...Anyways, in the desktop version, I was formating my text by using CTRL+I and CTRL+B buttons a lot. And I miss it here on the website. I think all commands with CTRL+... are not working here.

3. In desktop app when I needed to write a new post with the same hashtags that I used in any other of my posts, I simply went to the post-editing mode, then clicked on Create Post, and I had a draft version of my old post. And all I had to do is just to change the Topic and the content, but I didn't need to enter all hashtags again. They were already there. It was a super cool feature, which helped me to save a lot of time. Maybe it was a bug in the desktop ver, but it was a useful bug.

4. Also, I couldn't find how to schedule the post. I couldn't find that button under the post preview section.

5. Also, there is no boosting button around the post. If you want to boost your post, you need to go to the Points tab, choose boosting and enter your permalink there. A little bit complicated procedure...

Also, if I am in post-editing mode, and I click on Create Post button, it doesn't work. Well, maybe it was done in purpose.

I didn't try any operations with my wallet yet, so have no idea how does it work here. But think there shouldn't be any issues...

Overall, I liked the website version. Especially, because it is less buggy 😂

P.S.: Now Ecency has a referral program, but you will never see it unless you visit the FAQ. I think it would be nice to have a referral tab somewhere in the account tab. And, it will be nice to know your referrals.
