Prompt First Sentence: The clanking and stomping didn't stop all night. Up the stairs, down the stairs - all she wanted was sleep.

But sleep was for mortals, and although she had wanted a quiet night all to herself, it seems the night had other plans.

Grunting before rising from the comforts of her pillows, she sauntered around her extravagant room to get ready.

Prompt 2
Some people say why do I keep going?

Because there is no end in sight. Not until that blasted tree withered away and signaled the end of her very extensive lifespan, anyway.

Natalie sighed as she overlooked the hotel's grand lobby from her perch atop the grand staircase. Well-hidden she was, but enough for her to observe the various souls waiting for their judgement.

That was until she saw him.

Prompt 3
he comes with baggage

But not of the tangible kind. No, the baggage he carried came in the form of a little girl, who looked no older than the age of seven.

Natalia had known this particular man as one of her former employees, though he was human then, and now well, she was only curious as to who the little girl was and why she was with him.

Skirt flowing as she elegantly stepped down from the staircase, the man had already anticipated her approach as he stood over the little girl who sat comfortably on the plush couch.

"Jeeves, I was hoping after the years you had worked here, you'd already know the way to the afterlife. What brings you here?" Natalie had said as she crossed her arms and stared pointedly at the man in question.

"Miss Natalia" Jeeves gave a slight bow in greeting, the crowsfeet near his eyes crinkling as his looked at her in fondness. "I only thought of doing one last duty before moving on. I found her near the boulder beach, she seemed a bit lost, has been for the past two years." He gestured to the young girl sitting at his side.

Natalia arched a perfectly shaped eyebrow as she switched her attention to the aforementioned spirit, that's when she noticed the glowing rocks in the girl's hands.

Curiosity peaked as she asked for her name, "State your name and your reason for hanging on these past two years." There was something about the little girl's eyes as she replied.

"Cassie. I need help waking my dad."

Author's note: The character of Cassie was introduced some months back in We-Write #6: Head Under Water. You could say this was the prequel. The setting and the main character were inspired by a Korean drama that I watched, but it is by no means copied. This is a work of fiction.
