Prompt First Sentence: Her mother knew what she could do. The first time she...

Experienced the symptoms, it took all her willpower not to drastically injure her mother. But she was slowly losing it each month, the closer she got to her 16th birthday. That's why it came as no surprise to her when her mother decided to give her the "talk".

"Fiona, it's time you go see your father. I'm sure he'll have all the answers on what... you're going through at the moment... I'm only human after all..." her mother had quietly said, not quite meeting her gaze.

Fiona blinked once, her wide light-green eyes staring steadily at her mother. This was new, not the fact that she always felt different from her peers, but about the part that her mother was now ready to talk about her father. She'd tried asking about him when she was younger, but her mother couldn't even give her his name nor describe what he looked like, therefore she stopped asking all together.

Until today, today she would be getting answers.

Her mother quietly slid a small envelope across the coffee table where they sat facing each other, "This arrived today. I think he already knows what's going on."

With that, her mother stood up from the sofa and left her as she stared at the envelope, her name written on it in elegant script.

Prompt 2
There were too many compromises to be made. He even had to change his name and hated that.

But the hassles didn't end there though, he also had to change addresses. All part of the shedding process, but he was growing tired of doing it more often than not, that's why he made sure this new "suit" he picked would last longer than the others.

It was one of those times when he finally decided to check up on his daughter, she was coming of age after all and it was time for her to "shed some skin", as he so gently referred to the process.

A knock on the front door brought him out of his reverie. His tongue flicked out of his lips as he stood up to get the door. it was time to work on his legacy.

Prompt 3
the scent of tangerines

Was overwhelming to her senses as her tongue continuously flicked out of her lips. It also didn't help that she was butt-naked in the field of fruit.

"Steady now. You don't want to scare off the cute little farm girl." Her dad gestured to her target standing a few meters ahead of them just as his light-green eyes turned back to her and watched her in amusement. Easy for him to say, he wasn't as naked as he was born.

Just then, her scalp started to tingle and she suddenly had the urge to scratch it off. She did just that and felt bits of her hair falling off.

"It'll be easier if you lie down, and don't just scratch it, pull it off using both of your hands. Gently... That's right, get ready to suit up, baby girl." Her dad softly encouraged her as she felt the warm air touch her now slimy skin.

She could do this, it was time to take on her first host.

Nice story. At first I thought the word "suite" was misspelled. The story would be a good candidate for a continuation.

What an awesome way to blend three different writing prompts, @iamraincrystal! While I agree it would be cool to see a continuation of this story and characters, you also did a great job having a complete flash fiction/short story piece. Very enjoyable piece! 😊
