Euro 2020 Day #09 Previews

I am following the European Football Championship making previews on all matches while having some fun betting small stakes.

Having a losing day was bound to happen after running really hot for the first week in the tournament. The overall damage was limited though and I kept a rather low profile. Both the crypto beer bets taken on betfury.io also ended up losing The problem right now with the format of many of the teams that end 3rd in their group going to the next round is that teams with 3 points are kind of ok with a draw knowing they locked in the qualification while teams with 0 points know that a draw leaves them with matters in their own hands for the last match. This results in not the most exciting matches and 2 draws yesterday.

Hungary vs France

France took a deserved win in the end against Germany who also played a good match. They showed their offensive quality with Mbappé, Griezamen, Benzema scoring 3 goals of which 2 were disallowed due to minor offside margins. Hungary managed to hold off Portugal until minute 84' still lowing 0-3 in the end. I expect France to be the better team and Hungary to try and defend with everything they got in this match. I don't really bet big favorites and everyone and their mom will be on France at low odds in this one which makes it hard to see any pre-game value in this match. I'm going to just wait it out and see where it goes. No Pre-Game Bets

Portugal vs Germany

Germany will be playing at home in this match as it's being played in Munchen. In their previous match, quite some money came in on them on the Asian betting market while joe public was all out on France. It was one of the rare occasions where a move like that didn't fully play out. While Germany played an ok match, they still deserved the loss over 90 minutes. Portugal took a deserved win against Hungary with an exaggerated score and all 3 goals scored very late in the match. This might be one of those cases where a draw is a good result for both as Germany keeps things in their own hands while Portugal would be sure of a qualification knowing they still have to play against France. With Germany playing at home needing this win a lot more, Portugal should be in a position where they can lay back more luring on the counters. This made me take a medium 0.15 units try on Germany 1st Half -0.25 Corners @ 1.985. I also took crypto beer bets on Draw @ 3.45 (80 WGR on Wagerr.com) and Germany 1st Corner @ 1.790 (100 TRX on Betfury.io)

Spain vs Poland

Spain pretty much dominated Sweden especially in the first half but they don't seem to have the strikers that in the end scores the goals. They also got 2 massive chances against so they certainly aren't without flaws in the defense. Poland showed to just not be good enough against Slovakia in a match where they lost 1-2. It's hard to see anything but Spain once again being the dominant team in this match especially since Poland will be without their defensive midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak who was sent off. The big question is if they will be able to actually score goals this time and not give away one or more massive chances which Lewandowski will score. I pretty much need to see confirmation in-game and am considering both Spain and possibly Poland Team Total over 0.5. No Pre-Game Bets
