Euro 2020 Day #10 Previews

I am following the European Football Championship making previews on all matches while having some fun betting small stakes.

Back on track yesterday with the main pre-game bet playing out delivering a winner. From here on out, the time investment it requires to follow the tournament will be decreased as the 3rd matches in each group will be played at the same time and there will be less matches going forward which is not a bad thing. I managed to stay away from the big favorites who failed to win yesterday which mostly comes down to discipline and being quite experienced in betting. I wrote many times in the past how understanding the betting market is so much more valuable compared to being an expert analyzing the actual sports understanding the game when it comes down to making long-term profit.

Italy vs Wales

Italy won their first 2 matches comfortably and is for sure qualified while Wales are with 4 points and a positive goal saldo making it so that they take the 2nd place unless they get trashed by Italy while the Swiss take a big win over Turkey. This basically looks like a match where Wales would sign for a 1-0 loss putting them into the next round while Italy would sign for having their energy conserved not picking up any other injury. The total line is set at 2 goals which reflect this scenario. I generally don't like to get involved in matches where there is not that much at stake. The most likely scenario is for Wales to crawl back luring on the counter with Italy being unwilling to really get tired and up the pace patiently trying to break the defense without wasting too much energy or taking risks. I'm leaving this match for what it is. No Pre-Game Bets

Switzerland vs Turkey

This is a match for the 3rd place and the tournament allows 4 of the best 3rd place spots to proceed to the next round. The way this looks right now, 4 points likely will be enough to get it done, 3 points not so much unless there is a really good goal saldo. Switzerland are on track for 4 points if they win while Turkey at best can get 3 points but with currently the worst goal saldo of the tournament. This match will be played in Bakoe so Turkey has the home advantage with less travel time. Expect temperatures to be quite hot again. Both teams have been rather poor so far this tournament. Wales took a deserved draw against Switzerland who crawled back once in the lead and the swiss had no chance against Italy losing 3-0. They still can put up some solid numbers only having failed to score once in their last 10 matches and only having 1 loss in the last 9. Turkey has one of the bigger disappointments playing on the counter against Italy falling short and failed to make use of their chances against Wales losing 0-2. A draw doesn't help either of the teams so it can be expected for them to play for the win even though it remains a question how deep into the match this will really start to kick in to have an actual influence on the price. Looking at the odds, I can't help but feel Switzerland are made too high of a favorite with them having to win which will leave space on the counter as a team that isn't really that big on keeping clean sheets. I have spread my stake over multiple bets. 0.03 Units on Turkey Win @ 5.544 | 0.10 units on Turkey Team Total Over 0.75 @ 1.780. Both teams also had some very high corner matches in their group. Turkey 10-7 vs Wales & 2-8 vs Italy & Switzerland 3-2 vs Italy and 4-12 vs Wales. This made me have a 0.07 unit try on Over 10 Corners @ 2.40

Late info might change my view on what is written in these previews.
