Italy continued their captivating run by beating Bosnia & Herzegovina. Gli Azzurri are now unbeaten in the last 22 matches. Italy managed to win 2-0 at the Bosnian headquarters, Grbavica Stadium in the last Group 1 match of the UEFA Nations League League A. The visitors 'two winning goals in this match were scored by Andrea Belotti (22 minutes) and Domenico Berrardi (68').

The victory led Italy to advance to the semifinals. They top the Group 1 standings with 12 points one point ahead of the Netherlands in second. A slick record also accompanied Italy's victory over Bosnia. Roberto Mancini's men are now unbeaten in 22 consecutive matches.

Italy's last defeat was in September 2018. At that time, they lost to Portugal 0-1 in the UEFA Nations League match. Italy's unbeaten run is the best since July 2006. In July 2006, Italy had an unbeaten streak in 25 matches when coached by Marcelo Lippi.

The record recorded by Italy at this time feels extraordinary. The reason is that on several occasions, they often have to appear in conditions that are not ideal. The hurricane of injuries and the COVID-19 pandemic have cost Italy their pillar. In this international break alone, Italy had to lose Leonardo Bonucci, Giogio Chiellini and Marco Verratti.

Italy also could not be accompanied by Roberto Mancini on the sidelines who tested positive for COVID-19. Mancini himself was the brains behind Italy's unbeaten run. Mancini, who was appointed as Italy coach since May 2018, was able to revive La Nazionale after failing to reach the 2018 European Cup final. The former Manchester City coach has played 24 matches with Italy, scoring 15 wins, seven draws and only two defeats.
