What a ride we've had so far in the quarter finals of the UEFA champions league, perhaps the so-called big teams have stood out from the total of 32 teams that begin the race.
We're down to 4 teams, and surely a winner is going to be emerge from these 4 teams, chelsea,Manchester city,Real madrid and Paris saint Germain.

Perhaps the little shock for many would be the elimination of bayern Munich againt PSG or maybe Liverpool's loss against Real madrid.

Whatever be the case, the stage is set for the semi-finals, the fixtures has been made and all the teams now know their fate, and a bit of luck to be on their side.

The two fixtures in the semi finals is chelsea playing against Real Madrid and PSG taking on Manchester city. One can bet that these matches will live up to expectations but the outcomes is one i doubt ig any one can predict.

looking at the matches proper;

Chelsea against Real madrid

Let me take a deep breathe here, do chelsea stand any chance in this fixture, is real madrid unstoppable?
Seriously, the rejuvenated chelsea looks reborn under Thomas Tuchel, who would have thought Chelsea will be at the semis, playing against robust and dogged Athletico Madrid in the round of 16 and stubborn fc Porto, who did eliminated juventus.
Against all odds, chelsea were able to keep their head up, stayed focus and grinding the needed results, doing well in the league too.

Real madrid on the other hand, while it seems they are not in form and losing it, they've find a way to turn things around in the champions and here they are in the semis and comfortably edging out liverpool.

The interesting thing in the chelsea vs real madrid fixture is that, chelsea did eliminates athletico madrid, a spanish team in the round of 16 while real madrid eliminates liverpool, an English team in the quarter finals. Inotherwords, both teams are familiar with the kind of football to expect from each other. And the two managers who are not that experienced zinedine zidane and thomas Tuchel goes head to head.
Nobody knows a Chelsea team that will turn, so also the madrid team that will play that night but one thing is sure this fixture is going to be explosive, and no room for mistakes whatsoever if not the team would be punished.
I'm going to sit on the fence while am not sticking out my neck for any team. Though i still want to fancy a Chelsea win

The second fixture is the PSG against Manchester city.

Familiar foes, interms of the 2 managers, Mauricio pochetino and pep Guardiola. Pochetino now PSG manager, a former Tottenham manager is well aware of pep Guardiola's prowess in football while pep will also be wary of threat posed by former Tottenham boss.

  • PSG will have to rely on Neymar and Mbappe individual brilliance to get anything from this match while man city will play more as a team as they don't rely on s particular player to bail them out. This particular match will be tensed and intriguing. Pep Guardiola will want to be in the finals by all possible means and possibly win the champions league this season.
    PSG will be more desperate for this as most of their players are in their peak, losing in the finals to bayern Munich last season will be enough motivation for them to win this season. For this fixture am expecting a goal feast, and who carry it at the end of the day will be determined by a team that out-scores the other, but at the same time, i see PSG having an edge in this fixture.

This is one sweet fixture to look forward to Chelsea vs Madrid, Chelsea will have to be at their best out knock out Madrid.

Is it Chelsea's year as an underdog to win the champions league again like last time? Maybe but it has Madrid to go past first.
