Covid plagues Bruges

A decimated Club Brugge took on Kiev tonight in Ukraine with a decimated team. 5 players were out with a Covid contamination, among them 3 key players, Hans Vanaken, Noa Lang and Mats Rits. Also the full technical staff had to stay in Belgium as they all tested positive. Rik De Mil, the coach of the second team of Club Brugge took over and had to play with an experimental team. They did very well in a freezing cold Kiev, with temperatures of minus 15 degrees Celsius the conditions were very rough.

Kiev came in front with a magnificent shot from outside the box by Boejalskyj, but Brugge equalised five minutes later with a header from Brandon Mechele. Brugge had the best chance for the win, but Dost headed the ball over the goal. All in all a very good result for Brugge, with a goal abroad and the best position to finish it off next week in Bruges.
