Luke is Alive - February 13
Today is World Radio Day
The idea of establishing World Radio Day was born from the president of the Spanish Academy of Radio, Jorge Álvarez, who in January 2008 requested the establishment of this celebration from the general director of UNESCO, Koichirō Matsuura. It was in November 2011 when the 36th General Conference of Unesco finally proclaimed World Radio Day, a formal proposal from the Government of Spain and through the permanent ambassador of Spain, Ion de la Riva. In 2012, the Spanish Academy of Radio promoted the creation of the International Committee for World Radio Day to promote the annual celebrations of this day and thus contribute to the prestige of this media throughout the world.
