Over the years we have had many different pets. When I was younger, I remember taking home some kittens. There were three of them with different patterns, but they were siblings. Soon, they were all grown cats and left our wing. Then, we moved to another place, so I never really knew what happened to those cats.

We have moved to a building apartment over twenty-five years ago. We never thought of having pets, as it's usually not allowed in the building. We used to see lots of stray cats, but we never really thought of adopting any, as we were all too busy. That all changed when Mom officially retired from her teaching work. Since she stayed home most days, she became fascinated with our neighborhood cats. MingMing was the name we gave the mother of all cats. That's what we call her, since she was the one who gave us her four kittens to adopt last year.

This is Mini, one of MingMing's first batch of kittens. We suspect she's pregnant. We missed seeing her for at least a day. When she showed up, she seemed to have given birth. We haven't confirmed it yet, as these cats seem to be very good at hiding.

Feeding the cats has become Mom's pastime. It has also become part of my budget to provide cat food for them. I'm quite thankful for these cats, as they keep Mom company during the day. At least she won't grow old or senile too fast, as she is kept active by these cats. From the first batch of kittens, MingMing has since given birth to a second batch and is now pregnant with her third. Oh boy!

I'm grateful for as long as these cats keep Mom happy. ^_^
