Today we continue with this beautiful challenge and it is my turn to thank for one of the things I have in my body that even though they are not in optimal health, they are one of the greatest blessings I have, these are my eyes and today I want to tell a good story about them.

La vida de un miope | The life of a short-sighted person

It's ironic that today I have to thank for my eyes even though I haven't had good vision since I was 6 years old, that is, for 20 years, since I suffer from Myopia in one eye and Myopia and Astigmatism in the other, so it's totally difficult for me to see anything at a distance, without my glasses, I see quite distorted.

I remember that my life has always been having the marks of the rubbers that hold the lenses in my nose (as you can see in the main image of the post) and having some irritations for the same reason, however, I'm totally grateful that I have vision even though I need corrections, because there are people who do not enjoy that pleasure.

When I was 12 years old I met the world of contact lenses and I fell in love madly, unfortunately my lenses are twice as expensive as those of a normal person, because I need a special type of lens in each eye, that is, I must buy separate boxes of lenses for each eye, then, the cost of a contact lens for a year could be about 140-180$ and even though in HIVE you can generate that amount, it deserves a strong saving.

I've always enjoyed good health in my eyes, beyond my myopia, but about 8 years ago I suffered what is known as a Corneal Ulcer, to summarize it, it is a pimple on the pupil that in order to remove it they had to use some swabs, which they used to scrape the iris and the pupil to remove the ulcer, which was quite painful for me.

The main cause of my ulcer was poor hygiene after training with my soccer team, because even though I had impeccable cleanliness in my house, I was practicing soccer on a dirt field and had some details regarding the fact that I washed my hands well and did not dry my sweat with them while playing or touching my eyes with my hands full of dirt, sometimes I was just unconscious.

After that, I committed myself not to neglect the hygiene of my eyes under any circumstance again and even less if I have contact lenses again, unfortunately I couldn't buy contact lenses again because they became too expensive, so I stayed for life with the conventional lenses.

Mis próximas acciones | My next actions

Later on I would like to have eye surgery and insert intraocular lenses so I can know what it feels like to wake up and use my eyes correctly, not to have any more irritations from wearing glasses or marking from the nose pads; in the short term I would like to go back to contact lenses because conventional lenses have worn me out and I feel that I have the maturity to take care of myself in the best way.

I'm grateful to life for having my eyes, seeing colors correctly (I say this because I have a cousin who suffers from color blindness, that is, he confuses colors), being able to use my eyes to investigate, read, analyze facts, situations, people and become a highly detail-oriented person.

Without my eyes, I could not be who I am today, so I feel incredibly lucky to have them, I thank God and the entire universe and I want to keep them for a very long time, not to mention until my time on this plane is over.

I've completed one more day and I feel more and more committed to the challenge. I'm very grateful to @vaneaventuras for creating this challenge where I can express all this love that I carry inside, to @jesymarcano92 for the motivation because if it weren't for their stories, I wouldn't be here sharing mine and to @jaynie for the space in PowerHouseCreatives to place my stories, it's simply beautiful.
