Market Friday: Cinnamon Bakeshop

Good day guys!

Here's my entry for @dswigle Market Friday.

After coming from town, my family decided to buy vegetables in the satellite market of Camp 7. On our way back to our house, we decided to stop by this bakeshop called Cinnamon Bakeshop. In front of their building, you could see all the plants that they are selling. For some reason because of this quarantine, there are a lot of people who are growing and taking care of plants.

Before entering the bakeshop we saw all these signs regarding the Coronavirus and rules before entering. I like the sign that says " WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY TO ANYONE WHO DOESN'T FOLLOW RULES!!!". Before they let us in we had to log our name, address, temp and contact information in a log book. The guard would take your temperature and spray alcohol on your hands.

This bakeshop was like a mini convenience store selling different types of food, drinks, condiments soap and tissue.

They had different types of baked goods like ensaymada, oatmeal bar, cream cheese cinnamon roll, ube pandesal, apple cinnamon roll, ube loaf, supergrain, softroll, choco loaf, plain loaf and they also have cakes.

We bought their plain loaf bread because my mom loves it so much. This is how their counter looked like and that's my sister. There was a huge plastic barrier. They have a tray that they use where you put your cash upon paying. You can also find the prices of the cakes in the counter.

Their bread is actually tasty, though it may be more expensive than the usual prices of loaf bread, I think it's worth it. I also think that we should promote our local businesses by buying from our local stores especialy during this pandemic.

There's something awesome about cinnamon baked goods; it's one of my favourite spices, personally, and I use it in a lot of things, coffee included!

Cinnamon baked goods are really good. I'm starting to love the taste of Cinnamon, I don't know why I hated it when I was a child haha. Thanks for dropping by. Stay safe always!

Cinnamon rolls are one of my favorite comfort foods (although I have many others hehe). I often go out of my way just to buy them as I always crave this for merienda, especially with coffee. The shop typically reminds me of a 7/11 outlet except that it offers a wider selection of bread. Are their cinnamon rolls good? It's nice to see them enforcing the safety measures against covid including the plastic screen in the cashier's area. Unfortunately, most 7/11 outlets here in Davao do not have that plastic screen. Here, I only see them in drugstores and in hardware stores. But anyway, recently, a mandatory face shield has been imposed, on top of the face mask, which is now a requirement to be able to enter supermarkets and big malls. Nice post, as usual.

That's great to know that you love cinnamon rolls, I also love munchin them whenever I watch TV haha. Yes, I agree with you it's like a mini 7/11 but it's pretty fragrant inside because of the baked goods. I haven't tried them yet though, I'll let you know if I did already. They're really strict here in Baguio especially when it comes to the safety measure, but I noticed the people are the ones who are not compliant. Like there was an instance when I went out to buy bread in a bakery there was a woman infront of me who wasn't wearing her mask right and to make it worse, she put it down and started rubbing her fingers on her nose. I was like scratching my head because that's like the mode of entry if ever she had it in her hands. The mandatory face shield is a hassle though, I'm already wearing glasses and the shield makes my vision crappier but we all have to sacrifice for the greater good. I hope that cases of Covid is not bad at Davao. Thanks again for all the compliments. Stay safe always!

It's not so bad here in Davao. There was even a day when we had 0 new cases. That's because people here generally follow what the government says. This is Duterte country and there's a certain pride here about being disciplined. Face shield really makes breathing even harder. But there's nothing we can do. Just as you said, we sacrifice for the greater good. Stay safe @sgbonus. Hope to be able to see you in the future in your lovely city.

Since you mentioned that it's a Bakeshop, I would assume that they bake their own breads and buns - meaning the shop must smell of freshly baked bread. I can hardly find stores like these here in Vietnam :)

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that in the article regarding the fragrance of the place. Awww, I hope that you'll be able to find a store in Vietnam. If you have the time, you might as well bake your own goods hehe. Thanks for dropping by, Stay safe always

You really hit the spot with this post!!! I love cinnamon rolls, cinnamon bread... oh, I love cinnamon, in case you haven't guessed! The wonderful aroma wafting through there was most likely heavenly. I can only imagine working there.

Was it good???? Pfft. Of course, it was. Who am I kidding? :))

Doesn't it still amaze you that the stores go through all this effort (of course, much of it is dictated by the State) and have signs up all over and yet, people do what they want anyway, without a care in the world for the other people around them. Some of the stores here us the trays, like the convenience stores, but, the other stores, I would say most people use credit cards now, so they don't have to touch money.

Thanks, as always, for such a stellar post! You always give me the best!! I appreciate you being a part of #MarketFriday! Each week, I post for the challenge to provide a different look of American culture, some of it over the top and some, everyday things.
