Breaking many deadlines? Set plans and restrictions.

Have you ever set a deadline for something and you could not meet up? Many people face this situation. Some failed their deadlines because of distractions, while some are busy doing other things of value but these things clash off with their key aim. Either way, something made them fail the deadline and they feel they have failed themselves.

I and the rest of the Typeearn team have been working on the project and we have set many deadlines for the launch, but we always find something to get off track or more reasons to change something on the app. Many of our users are already weary of waiting for the launch of the project. We have promised for so many times and we keep failing. But I realized there are values in the time we have been “wasting”. Without saying much about Typeearn or setting deadlines, let’s get on some points to avoid failing deadlines.

Before you set a deadline for your work, you must consider whatever you are working on and give detailed planning. We have been working with many plans on Typeearn, but we see better values every time we are about to go public and we change things again. If we continue to do this, it will keep taking time to launch so we consider a new approach. No matter what happens, we picked a date, and we put in huge restrictions and plans. Since we have done this, it has been working for us and we noticed huge progress.

Plan for deadlines
It is basic. Everything needs planning, and it is not a new thing to talk about. But sometimes, you just need to put many things to test. You need to consider every factor while you are planning. Make achievable plans.

Put something at stake.
If nothing is at stake, it is not a deadline. When you are setting a deadline for any work, consider it like you are in the school and you won’t have the chance to submit the work again or would miss a certain mark. If imagination would not work for you, but something at stake. Set off something that you would lose if you cannot meet the deadline, then you would have reason(s) not to break it.

Restrict and control yourself.
What is your means of distraction? Recognize it and stay away from it. As much as I try to remain focus to work, I feed Facebook often in the night. This is not entirely bad, but it consumes like 30 minutes of my time that I am supposed to use for something else. So, I deleted Facebook app from my mobile device. The only way I can reach Facebook is on my computer, and it will be for important reasons. Put away all things of distraction.

Put proper planning for your work, take away distractions and get your work done at the right time. For everyone waiting for Typeearn, prepare for the big news.

Thank you!

You have made some good points here...

Set off something that you would lose if you cannot meet the deadline, then you would have reason(s) not to break it.

I like this one... Will try to test it :) It looks that the "punishment" thing works the best on us, humans... :)

Yes! We are in the world where we do many things and there are distractions everywhere. People in the 1930s and earlier talked about how they battled with consistency and commitment. Those days, there were few things to do, but now... I don't have to mention. So the "punishment" thing is the only way to remain consistent.
