"Ain't Nothing Gonna Slow Me Down..."

Last month, through watching and learning from my friends in #CTPtalk, I was happy to discover the first of the month celebrations in what is called at Hive, "Power Up Day". How exciting! Power up on the first of the month, as a group, helping to further the movement together oh, and earn a badge! Anyone who knows me from Click Track Profit knows I'm a sucker for badges...I love gamification! PS. Have you claimed my CTP badge yet? Give it a click below!

Ahem, back on topic!...

To say I was a little bummed out is an understatement. You see, I didn't have anything to power up at the time. I had just powered up all my Hive 2 days prior to the this fun filled day. Doh!

That was when I knew I needed to up my game plan.

I decided on August 1st that I was going to set out on a mission to get 100 hive for the beginning of September. As of today, August 28th, I am 1 Hive shy of reaching my goal which I will reach during the next couple of days. Yay!

I am pretty happy about this for several reasons...

One, I'm insanely competitive and want to participate. I can't help it. I grew up playing sports and I want to win! Although you'd never know it from the teams I cheer for...ha ha ha...

Two, and more importantly, it's incredibly fun to reach your goals and see results taking place right before your eyes. The feeling of accomplishing something NEVER gets old!

The purpose of this post is not to brag but to remind you that it's really important and beneficial to set goals for yourself. You can see by my goal, it doesn't have to be astronomical. The point is to always be working towards SOMETHING.

Of course, it's great to know what you're working towards, which in the end can be your long term goal...but figuring that out is just step one. Now you have to plan how you're going to get there by coming up with smaller, short term goals.

For me, I want to have a certain amount of Hive Power by the end of the year. So hitting my target of 100 hive a month doesn't stop after September 1st. I need to do this EVERY month. To help me move forward, I put together this graphic in Canva for my personal goals for the remainder of the year. I came into Hive a little late in the year, so my goal may not seem very high to some but for me, starting from 0 half way through the year, without investing any money, is a bit of an uphill battle so I needed to come up with a strategy.

There are all sorts of great programs to help you get started on setting goals. My program of choice is definitely Plus 1 Success because it really helped me figure out my strategy by helping me stay consistent and create healthy habits, daily. You can check it out by clicking here.

Whatever or however you decide to start creating a plan and setting goals, the most important thing is that you just start. It's never too late!

You probably just don't have any idea how happy this makes me! WooooooHooooooo.

I tend to keep my hive powered up so always forget about PUD. I bought and powered up a small amount of hive this week. Yes, I powered it up within minutes of being available.

You have a beautiful graphic for your goals. I have a sticky note on the bottom rail of my monitor :) I got involved in a 'comments commitment' with a couple of friends. I'm on track for my goal, but I've got to keep going to make the year end commitment.

Which reminds me, today being Friday. @galenkp has a Friday Fun Day. There is generally a little hive to win, but the idea is to comment. On his post (which will be something incredibly silly) and on commenters comments. If it's like every other Friday there will be over 400 comments. It's a great way to meet new people and have some fun. He hasn't posted his 'topic' for the day yet, but it should be any minute. I just really enjoy the back and forth....

Keep on keeping on. I really remember how much each milestone means. You are really knocking it!
