You Support Me, I Support You .:. The Secret of Engagement
After shaking a bit in my last video, it's time to float into the more peaceful waters... To be more specific, I got inspired to make this vlog by one of the videos from the Youtube channel called Infinite Waters... Some of the people in the live chat mentioned the phrase You support me, I support you, and I have decided to use it as a title of my vlog...
I have noticed some kind of changing my flow in content creation to the specific viewers/readers... In the beginning, I was trying to make Hive closer to the beginners, to try to show them the first steps on the platform... I still support all the newcomers into our community, but I think that I can do more in another field...
I remember my live stream on Twitter with @nathanmars and the question that he asked about improvements on Hive... We were talking about onboarding as a major problem on Hive, and at that moment I became aware of another important issue that we have... How to keep onboarded people active? How to keep them motivated and show them the right way of doing things? Helping them to grow... as by growing, they will appreciate more the platform, the community, and themselves...
Also, I have noticed that I'm trying to "mobilize" people that are watching on the sidelines... preaching how they should start, how to integrate faster, how to introduce themselves... The problem is that all those people know EXACTLY what they have to do, but they REFUSE to do it... they refuse to take ACTION... They refuse to make a decision, like in that vlog from another day... silently saying no...
Unfortunately, in that case, nobody can do anything more for that people... Nor me, nor any other active member, nor any super-motivational speech out there... The ACTION can be taken only by the person itself...
So, I will try to focus more on the people that are already here, on the field, working their butts to succeed... Also, I want to grow together with others, to learn from YOU, and every other action taker here...
The community is all about that... You support me, I support you...

Yes, yes & yes! As usual, you knock it out of the park, Zoltan :) Such a simple statement "You Support Me, I Support You" but powerful...
I come across very similar things & understand where you are coming from. I am passionate about my content here but I am also passionate about supporting others who go out there & make quality content. But what REALLY earns my support & care is the authentic engagement. Not because they want something out of me like an upvote or rah rah on their content...because they really want to build relationships & might have a perspective they'd like to share, which (as you had said) can be a great learning experience....
I don't expect people to kiss my butt or even like what I vlog about, but supporting one another & lifting each other up in a honest and well intentioned energy can make all the difference in the world. Sometimes just a kind gesture, thoughtful comment or even a word of encouragement when one needs it is enough....
Like you, I really would rather ppl NOT comment if they don't respect my content enough to at least watch it (or read it if I blog). Just be authentic and respectful, really all I ask. :)
Okay, you really need to stop making me think & come up with creative ideas after watching your videos...geez hehe. Seriously, thank you & keep going with this awesome content. I will always support you! :) 💚
I enjoy a good "comments discussion" and I love to see other people's ideas... And the best of everything is when someone post like Charletta (@successchar) in other post's comment that she read all the comments and learn a lot from that! That's probably the best thing that happens... People get together and contributed to IMPROVE some content...
Maybe I don't have time to answer the comments immediately, but I do find time to answer every single one...

I see that you are doing IAAC videos... That's great for start and I was doing similar challenge when I started with video creation... As time passes by, and you feel more confident, you can create videos about your passion, and share your experiences... Maybe some guitar song? :)

Man thank you for pointing this out regularly. This platform is not a one way street where we can just wait for others to stop by and upvote our posts. I have to admit that I had to step down a bit lately - Covid is crazy in Switzerland and we have new rules to implement every 7 days... It's difficult to run a business in these conditions.
I think it's normal, sometimes live happens and we can't find the time to do everything that we have planned. I've set a rule for myself. When I have time to make a post, I need also to find time to read other people's posts and leave a comment. This way I don't feel too bad when I miss out a day or another.
It is hard to run a business in normal conditions, I can't imagine how it is in these crazy times... You are a true warrior...
I hear you there... I feel bad if I skip any post on the CTPTalk... Except for soccer-related and other irrelevant stuff out of my interest... lol...

Thank you for your kind words... I like to make people uncomfortable... Including myself with some of my previous vlogs... I find that important, as a reminder that only doing that can make me grow, but also the other people that want to grow... Making ourselves uncomfortable, speaking things that hit on target, but maybe kill some bonds... But, those who understand, those are worthy and stay around...

LOVED THIS Zoltan @ph1102 i must admit i am not a fan of the word audience either it feels kind of starnge to me also, Mr Engagement talking about engagement makes sense. LOL
You are right it is a simple concept that seems to escape a lot of people.
I am going to work harder on this myself now we are through the worst of this hard fork now.
One word comments is what has been pushing me to move away from Facebook and towards this platform more because it seems to be what they all do there now.

This is not commenting, it's kind of spamming i think, to me a comment should be at least 5-6 words and like you said should add to the conversation or post.

Tbh, I use those words very often, but usually as an addition to my comment... at the end, or at the beginning of it... They serve to make additional respect and appreciation for the content that I have just read or watched... And it comes from the heart as I'm aware that people use their valuable time to spend it with me... That is something that we all have to respect...
And regarding HF problems... it is a bit frustrating, as it takes additional time for "processing" comments, upvotes... and I have million better ways to spend that time... and probably everyone else... :)
Yeah i think the words are fine, just not on their own which is what happens on FB now.
I personally just be working on other things during this HF not really been spending a lot of time here because of it being so frustrating but from what i hear it has been a lot worse on previous ones
