Time For a Change

No, this title has no other secret meaning behind it... I have decided to change my laptop after 8 years of use 24/7... It was from the lowest ASUS edition and it lasted for so long and I really can't complain about it... But, as every story has it ends, it started to freeze from time to time, and my data on it was too valuable to risk and use it more...

I have ordered a 2-3 days ago one of my first loves, Lenovo laptop from Thinkpad series... I still have my old IBM Thinkpad T61, and it still works! I think that he has 14 years now, but my wife was sorting some photos on it, and after working on the other ASUS she said: "Wow, what a great feeling is typing on this computer."... Probably because it cost back in 2007 $2500... lol...

My new baby is Lenovo ThinkPad E595, with Ryzen 5 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD... It came with Windows 10, but it didn't last too long... lol... I have installed Linux Mint immediately... The biggest work is exporting/importing bookmarks, contact, email accounts, etc... I was doing that almost all afternoon and will do it tomorrow...

The last time when I have changed some techy things (mobile phone), I have started with video creation... What will be after this upgrade? Time will tell... :)

I apologize for being less active on the blockchain, but the better days are coming...

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

You seem to have been busy. Just the thought to have to change my computer gives me nightmares ;-). I have always wanted to use linux but I'm not savy enough to make the step and scared to break my computer...

Good you didn't go to the Mac side ;-)

Oh, I know a lot about the computers, and I have no problem fixing them for OTHERS... But, when I have to do something on mine, that's a different story... lol...

And, I will not go on a Mac side... lol... And I'm so happy that I'm Windows-free for more than 15 years... lol...

I managed to be microsoft free in terms of software (100% open source) but I still didn't manage to make the next step and get rid of windows. Mac however is a no go. They don't even have a delete key on their keyboard... ;-)

I'm watching your video on my laptop, and I've been using it for four years. Yes, you have to transfer a lot of things and set up everything on your new laptop. It feels fresh. Looks like a new journey!

I hope that it will serve for some time... Still doing some fixing, but I have done 80% that I wanted... So, almost tranferred everything... ;)

Thanks for taking time to watch my videos!
