Beware of Cheerleaders .:. They Can Distract You From The Real Thing

We are living in weird times... This sentence is my often seen intro into my blog posts... :) Well, it is always like that... Present times are unique... And there are a lot of aspects that these times are weird, but I will try to focus on one of them...

We are living in a society where everything that you see around you is screaming "LOOK AT ME!" And here, I think mostly about things that are created by humans... When I go on my walks, if I don't go somewhere outside the town, I can't hear the birds singing, the silence, the wind... Instead of that, I hear big motorcycles that make a noise like jet-planes, just to take your attention that you "admire" to the owner that he has it... You can't see the sky or trees from all those billboards that are offering you a better smile, more hair volume, or bigger tits... Because, of course, you are not perfect, and you should spend money to chase perfection... NOT! You are perfect as you are!

The same thing happens with people... As we have bought that new teeth brackets, and that new shampoo, and those new tits, so we want to be seen now! Why did we do it if not because of that? It's our turn to struggle and push others, just to show ourselves to the world! But how can we do it? Trying different things, but they don't work... Let's turn to the "safe option"...

...Follow someone strong... And there is nothing wrong with that if you are doing it to learn new things, and growing along with your mentor... But... As always, there is a trap... A lot of people got lost in the shadow of their leaders... They become cheerleaders... They get the attention of others, but it's temporary... It lasts only those 10-15 minutes while the time-break is on... Time passes by, and they are training their 15 min performance for the "mentor breaks", and doing nothing for themselves...

On the other side, who doesn't like to be flattered, spoiled... Children from an early age are acting like that... Asking for 100% attention from their parents... Later in life, asking for 100% attention of their partners...

Also, the other side of the story isn't spared... The leaders, mentors who are surrounded by cheerleaders are living in a "fake reality"... Thinking that all things are perfect as they have a lot of people cheering them... That stops them to think outside the box, to create new ideas, to motivate their "students", to teach them new things...

It looks like a vicious cycle, but it can be avoided... Like always in any business or life decisions, we should look at things objectively... Zoom out things...

I know what you meant with the word of distraction, city life always distracts me, or sometimes my overthinking brain distracts me from being positive. When I have such kind of days, I just go out, search for a calm quiet place and sit down and walk a little bit. I often choose parks or residential areas to avoid crowds and distractions...

Stay blessed...

It's always nice to hear the sound of silence... That's why I usually pick places outside the town where I can relax without all the noise...

Thanks for the comment!

Sometimes I feel like I live in the Matrix, but I'm the only one that can see these things clearly.
And then I read one of your posts, which at least assure me that I am not alone.
Have a good weekend dude. :)

hahaha... So happy that I'm not alone... Now, we are two... 🤣

Thanks for the comment... Sorry for not being active too much these days, but I'm over the top with offline and online work... Trying to finish the year and not take shit over to the new one... :)

Have an awesome weekend!

Your not alone in activity as well. I've been posting every other day or 2 days for the past 2 weeks I think. Trying to juggle things I have to get done versus things I want to do. I do try to at least keep my voting power below a 100% each day though.

Have an amazing weekend as well!

You rocked with this subject Zoltan especially with the "Leaders" part.
Some leaders failed to differentiate between them.

It is also nice message for cheerleaders too, they should build something for them also not purely rely on "Cheer" thing.

Thank you for the comment! Well, it is like a double-edged sword... A powerful weapon, but should be treated carefully...

It's hard to recognize things as they are when you are a part of it... That's why it is important to ZOOM OUT everything... ;)

I don't know which causes me more frustration...distractions or poor time-management. And what's worse is when one leads to the other (you start working on something important and you get interrupted, which leads to a distraction and you end up chasing rabbits which blows your whole schedule out of the water).

Also, mentors are great for teaching principles and giving us an example of how to make progress, but we must be careful not to follow what the mentor wants rather than what we want. We don't want to end up somewhere we didn't want to go in the first place.

Yeah... That is a trap... You start to learn from your mentor, and if you don't have enough confidence, you can convince yourself that you can't be on the same level... and then you give up and just follow... and that's the end of growth, learning, and spreading YOUR word...

Thanks for the comment and your time... Appreciate it!

What you say in the video is very true. There are so many people that have such a sheep attitude. I've seen this in many different places and especially on the blockchain. When a leader voices even the most crazy ideas, they just say yes yes because the want to please. I believe that in a community it's also important to give oposing ideas. You once made a post about wolves and sheep if I remember correctly. The dynamic of a community is not defined by the sheep. If there is only one wolf (the leader) and all the others are sheep, it's not really a community...

It looks that you liked that post about the wolf and sheep herd... And, I agree about what you said... It's not a community if there is one wolf... It becomes something else... don't have a word to describe, but you get the point...

And I did notice something similar to that in the last couple of days on some "larger scale", and got a bit disappointed with what I saw... But, that will be a topic for one of the next vlogs... ;)
