Hey fellow swarmers!

The 1st to comment today! Woop! lol

Congrats to the winner! Enjoy your honey! The video is on 3Speak and I don't have an account there, so I'm not sure who the lucky bee was! lol

I'm not sure how far bees fly for their nectar but I'd imagine they make their hives close to where they know the pollen is; so I'll say a kilometre tops! ;)

Have a great week everyone! Lee :)

A double win today, @rcaine! Congratulations!

As someone will probably write the right answers, I will do the wrong one... They travel far, far away from their Hive... :)

Congrats again @rcaine
Honeybees will usually travel between half a mile to as much as 3.75 miles to scout out plants to forage. However, some people have recorded them flying as far as over 8.25 miles during their journey for nectar.

Congratulations on the win today @rcaine

The distance each bee flies in its life is astonishing. It is possible for bees to fly as far as 5 miles for food, however an average distance would be less than a mile from the hive. A strong colony, around 60,000 bees, therefore flies the equivalent distance from Earth to the Moon everyday!

As a rule of thumb the foraging area around a beehive extends for two miles (3.2 km), although bees have been observed foraging twice and three times this distance from the hive.

Congrats to Bob for the win, and usually Bee's stay quite near their home, but if need be they can search farther away, but not longer than they can go back.

Congrats @rcaine!!
