Broaden your Horizon and don’t get Stuck in a Rut

image.png

We can spend so much time writing blog posts on our particular Niche that we end up in a kind of Rut.

When we get in a rut a couple of things can happen

  1. We can find ourselves repeating what we have already written about
  2. We cannot think of anything new to wrote about

Repeating yourself isn’t such a bad thing as sometimes things do need to be re-iterated, however if we find ourselves struggling then its time to expand ourselves, broaden our horizon and make some additions to where you go and what you write.

Sure , we always talk about finding our Niche and directing all our energy towards that, however it can become a trap

In all the timer I have been on the Blockchain I have mainly focused my energy onto a specific community, namely the CTP Talk community, and that has been good and beneficial as they have their own tokens, But I have also found that I can get a bit neglecting of what I really want to say because I am trying to write specifically for that community.

So to brighten things up I have value added to my network and am writing for other communities, producing different formats and generally having a good time, sometimes a frivolous one, but always a good time.

I have joined the #freewriters community and participate in the #5minutefrewrite challenge as often as I can, and not only am I writing fluidly (as you only have 5 minutes to write on the given prompt for the day) I am also producing my writings in Video/Audio just to spice it up
Check out my latest: https://peakd.com/hive-161155/@russellstockley/zgzcrvgv

I have also been posting some great photographs in the #photography(dac) community and getting some good responses, but enjoying sharing my photographs : https://peakd.com/c/hive-181964/created

Then I have also created a community called Our Garden #ourgardens and been posting garden pics and encouraging others to do so
https://peakd.com/c/hive-127435/created

I have the Hive Helping Highlight Post where I highlight posts from other users in Hive that we wouldn’t ordinarily see or comment on – the purpose if the Hive Helping Highlight is to encourage engagement with the selected post for the day

As a bonus if you also engage with the Hive Helping Highlight daily post itself, you go into a random draw for a percentage of the Author Rewards
Today's post is here: https://peakd.com/hive-119826/@russellstockley/lhgwlfbi

And those that know me also know I do the
CTP Wheel of Engagement daily wheel spin
Honey Pot daily wheel spin
Hive Ghost daily wheel spin

All three are daily opportunities to win frees hive and CTP Tokens
you can find the 'Open for Entries Posts at my blog -https://peakd.com/@russellstockley

I also produce a daily Russell's Chatter Post where I get on Camera and chat about random things , things that will inspire, things that inspire me, and Hints and tips as well as expanding your mind by asking a question at each show. again you can find Russell's Chatter at https://peakd.com/@russellstockley each Russells chatter has an allocated beneficiary that will receive a percentage of the Author rewards for the post

My point being, spread the love, spread your wings, look at other communities and people that are on the blockchain. There is a plethora of very interesting communities outside of the circle that we keep.

If I can do it anyone can

Take the opportunity to increase you network, follow more people and engage with at least five extra new contacts every single day.

Your network will grow exponentially and you will grow and expand your own knowledge base

Hello @iamraincrystal - Please do contribute to the Our Gardens Community , it is all about sharing your gardens, hints , tips, successes and tragedies :)

I only have a balcony garden at present, It was missing my garden in our house up the coast that made me create the community.

I am missing having my hands in the soil

Huh. My main niche is no doubt travel. Sort of by necessity it is always changing so I don't get too stale at it. I write occasionally on Hive protocols and behavior and keep threatening to do (or redo more correctly) a series on the rivers of the western US. I have a huge pile of new information...

One of the reasons I don't publish every day is that I like to research my topics and present facts in every post. Takes some time....

Taking time is a good strategy, and a series on Rivers is also a good subject matter.
You are right Travel is always about the changing and shifting landscape, not just the visual but also the social.

Great post, Russell! Yes, we get into the moment when we repeat ourselves and it's time to make changes... spice up things... I remember that I was talking about totally different things 7-8 months ago than I do today in my vlogs...

We are shifting out interest and explore new topics and things... As you said, it's not getting out from the focus, it's more an expanding horizon... :)

Cheers!

I love the expansion of ideas and processes and being able to share that with others is a bonus. It is only natural that our thoughts have a predictable flow when we are talking about one topic matter, could be a very broad topic , but thoughts will have that follow through. Thats why it is good to change tact every now and then, avoids the heavy winds

Great tips there Russell, yeah I do hope that I am not talking abut the same thing over and over, though some things does need reminding from time to time, mostly I try to focus on helping others though.

I am more about getting the stuff out of my head, sometimes I realise that when I am chatting what I am saying bears direct connection to what I had said in a previous chatter, I guess that only natural in that our thought processes are one big flow

I don't know how you keep up with all that you do online and work a job also. I can do quite a bit, but nothing close to all of what you accomplish in a day. I do like to venture out and comment on posts that are not CTP related I try to feature at least one in every post that I do. Great work Russell, we appreciate all you do.
