FRESH - Short and Sweet - Convert STEEM to HIVE
Hi Folks
Today I wanted to convert my Steem into Hive and now that blocktrade have blocked Steem it is no longer a one step process. Unless someone else has found a simpler way I have used Ionomy.com to do my trade.
The first step was to join Ionomy You can join by clicking here once a member, scroll down the page to where STEEM is listed and click on the QR Code Icon
This open up a window with the information you need to send your steem to Ionomy
Once the steem is showing at Ionomy you can then go to the market and sell the steem for BTC
Once this has been undertaken you can then buy HIVE using the BTC you have just received for your STEEM using the markets selecting HIVE and buy HIVE.
When you have HIVE in your ionomy account you can then send the HIVE to your HIVE account using the HIVE Airplane Icon
Click on the Icon and it will open up a 'Send' pop up window
In this window you enter your Hive Username as the recipient and the password is your ionomy password.
It is quite simple just a few steps need to take place, probably the longest step is purchasing HIVE in the market.
My experience has been selling the steem happened almost instantly
The purchasing of HIVE took a few hours before It went through
Remember that you are given the market value in the market place based on BTC , it is up to you what value you want to sell for and buy with.
The Market Value is a guide, but it is always worth sticking with Market Value lest you undercut and de-value.
Anyway that’s my brief introduction and explanation
As mentioned at the start, if anyone else has a simpler way to do this come forwards and post it up.
Block trades used to be the easiest method however Steem is now blocked from Blocktrades.

Hey Russell, thank you for sharing this exchange method with us! I was wondering, is it not OK to stay with Steem as well as Hive? I seem to be currently earning on both.....and CTP of course! lol
Hi lee, It user choice :) I still use Appics an a couple of other Apps which are still on steem so I am still earning Steem
I am however focusing all else on HIVE - This is my choice, some people want to go right over to HIVE and this is a way of transferring their Steem. I need some extra HIVE Power so am transferring some Seem Over :)

Great guide Russell, and do remember to send Steem to your Ionomy account to not forget the correct Memo, plus also to confirm the transaction from your email when sending Hive to your Hive account, stay safe, awesome and alive.
Another method ..and comparatively more decentralized is to transfer STEEM to Steem Engine for STEEMP and buy HIVEP :)
