it is very much nice question , i have read in book that honey bee beat its wings very fast and there are many thought about its but i have read in books that honey bee flap mean beat its wing 200 to 230 time per second , its also depends on honey bee breed , some beats 230 and small honey bee beats 200 but some people say that there is no difference in big or small bee both beats 230 , but there is range 200 to 230 per scond, and 200 is over all , and 230 is for special bee also, thank you very much for this great question . hive is alive @russellstockley

Bees does beat their wings over a short arc around 90 degrees, but does it very fast around 230 bps.

Why would a honey bee beat it's wings. She need them to fly. If they are all beaten up they won't work right.
