RE: What does crypto represent for you?

Maybe a little late on this one, but was working on my own article :D

Let's see, I'm pretty sure I heard about Bitcoin in 2017, but thought it was more of a fad. I got more involved in 2019, when Master Nodes and ICO's were more the craze :P FOMO'd into a project, at what turned out to be it's highest point, and then sold off at a loss as it started to crater. This being my one fiat investment.

Since then, I arbitraged what I had left into owning a Master Node in a project that's actually somewhat viable, as well as small amounts of a whole bunch of staking coins.. but, that's not really super profitable.

I'd been watching the Vosk Coin channel on You Tube when I got more into crypto, which was a small crypto mining video blog essentially. I had wanted to set-up a mining rig for a while, and I managed to get permission from my wife to set up a small GPU rig in early 2020. With Eth going crazy, that is now my biggest source of crypto income. Though, I am thinking of selling it off while graphics cards are still rare and Eth 2.0 isn't out yet.

I like the concept of crypto currency, but a lot of projects have poor fundamentals. With all of the computational work being put into things like Bitcoin, it kind of feels like a waste.. I mean, it seems like it could be put to better use, like the Folding At Home project.

I do also really like the way Hive runs, with no real gas fees costing you tons of money to do anything on their network and encouraging people to get involved in content creation. It's late here, so I'm probably rambling a bit :D But, wanted to try to get in a reply before I fell another day behind on this!
