My Token Investments 1/13/2020

(Edited)

Currently I have some passive STEEM income payments every so often from holding EPC so I am going to start investing some of it into other steem-engine tokens.

Since I am starting off I'll focus today on buying a few tokens that may never have much value. Maybe these "bargain basement" tokens will surprise everyone one day but more likely not and I am going to get them just so I can HODL them in either case.

CAPTCHA

According to the token's description the website profits will be used to rebuy CAPTCHA tokens for burning. Fair enough and being legally blind solving CAPTCHAs tends to be more effort than it's worth for me. There's got to be some karma for buying these tokens.

The current asking price is 0.00005 STEEM and 26.0 are available so I'll buy all 26.

FUTURE

The token's description refers to it as "..Mostly a test/fun token.." and who doesn't want to invest in the future? This token's max supply is 121 million. The current asking price is 0.00041 STEEM. I already have 100 FUTURE so I'll buy another 900 to make an even thousand in my portfolio.

MEEP

Meep meep meep meep meep meep. Meep meep meep meep meep. Meep meep meep meep. Meep meep meep "meep" meep meep meep. Meep meep? Meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep. Meep! Meep!

RANKORE

I know almost nothing about this token. There's a max supply of 1 billion and there's no token description. The token was issued by @ran.koree who has a reputation number of 66 and more followers than I will probably ever have. The asking price is currently 0.011 STEEM so I'll get 100 and chalk it up to investing in a fellow Steemian.

This is very interesting! I am a relatively, well, VERY new Steemian. I am still trying to understand it all. I brought myself to Steem with minuscule knowledge and really not knowing why I am here. As I've trudged along, I feel as though I have a much better sense of why I am here, I am playing with building my own tribe, but wasn't sure if I needed a token. But knowing people like you are out there, now I just might!! Take care, thanks for the informative post, that gave me some hope!!

Thank you for the kind words and for following me. I am following you back. Before starting a tribe you might consider starting a community https://beta.steemit.com/communities it's far cheaper (costing only 3.0 STEEM to create a community) and can give you an idea how much interest there would be in your steem-engine tribe idea before paying the 2000 ENG for tribe creation.

Nobody knows everything about steem, cryptocurrency or blockchain technology so don't feel bad about what you don't know. We're all learning together.

Don't miss out on the exciting CTP token. CTPtalk is a great place and you earn tokens by simply writing posts, commenting on existing posts and of course Voting on posts and comments

Of course! Right now I am getting samples of low value tokens but I will also be investing in tribe tokens that I can earn staking rewards while I HODL.

You do realise they are low value because noone wants them. Majority you are buying are pointless trust me I hold them. If you doing it for a laugh cool but the title says investment these defo aint an investment

Partly as a lark but speculation and investment are synonyms.

Someone could have bought uranium ore literally dirt cheap from mining companies before WWII when nobody knew any good commercial use for uranium and sold it for a huge profit in the 1950s. I could have bought CRYPTSY points from CRYPTSY.com in 2015 when Cryptsy was a huge exchange and it would be worthless now. Both are investments because they are ventures hoping for profit but risking loss. A one time buy of anything speculating it might be worth more someday is by definition an investment.

Nice. I hadn't even considered investing in these @steem-engine tokens (besides the ones I get regularly). HOWEVER, I have noticed that on a few occasion one of the more obscure token pumps like 2000%+ for a few hours. So I am thinking that if I had larger quantities of these it may be worth flipping them. Thanks for starting this series. Maybe you can talk a little about the release of the NFTs on #steemengine - which just came to my attention the past day or two. I am wondering how/if that might add some motivation to start buying these steem-engine tokens...

Unless you have a bot that can immediately make trades I wouldn't recommend buying large quantities of low value tokens hoping to make a quick profit in flipping. I am getting some passive income from holding EPC so I can afford to lose it speculating on small one time investments. Once I get some more token investments crossed off my list I'll start investing more exclusively on tribe tokens that can be staked.

I have a use case for the NFTs I've been thinking about. I'll make a post for that soon.
