Celebrating the Anniversary of Our Grandparents

Today, we had a multi celebration, the 61st Anniversary of our Grandparents, the birthdays of my sibling, cousin, and aunt, and the anniversary of 2 of our aunts and uncles.

When I was thinking about the 61st anniversary of my grandparents I was really amazed at how they were able to make their relationship last this long. It's really inspiring wherein they are setting a good example to all of us in the whole family.

Let me share with you how we celebrated. One of my aunt's who was based in Canada ordered food from her friend from Pangasinan and it was all seafood. There was so much food. My mom prepared the shrimp in the pot.

This is pancit Malabon. It's a dish that originated in Malabon, Metro Manila, Philippines. Its sauce has a yellow-orange hue, attributable to achuete, shrimp broth, and a flavor seasoned with patis and crab fat. I think my other aunt was the one who bought this.

There was also lechon, which was the only meat that we had during the celebration.

They also cooked Adobong Pusit and this is a tasty squid dish cooked using the popular Filipino adobo method which brings in an array of flavors that will surely make it really tasty. The only downside of eating this dish is that your teeth will turn black and be careful of your clothes.

There was Kinilaw (I'm not sure what type of fish did they use to prepare this), this is a Filipino fish ceviche wherein the fish was cut into cubes and cured in a mixture of calamansi juice, fresh ginger, and seasonings.

My mom and brother also prepared this salad. Wherein, some ingredients were boiled and the others are fresh. It is composed of Eggplant, beans, tomatoes, onion, ginger, salted egg, green mango, and Okra. You usually get this and add some condiments to make it a tasty salad.

My cousin also prepared this dish Ginataang Alimasag (or alimango) which are Crabs cooked in Coconut Milk. He also prepared blue marlin steaks which I wasn't able to take a photo of, but it really tasted delicious.

It was really a seafood feast when we celebrated. I really had fun bonding and catching up with my family.

The party is not complete without dessert. They got a streamline cake. I just love the taste of this because it's not too sweet and it's really fluffy inside.

Lastly, this is Pichi-Pichi which is a gelatinous dessert and is made from grated cassava and sugar. One thing why I loved eating it was its cheese on top. It really made it more flavorful.

This was a really fun party and I pray that they will continue to be blessed all throughout their lives.
