What are you watching?

Because I'm rather addicted to being on Hive, I find my TV watching time is quite reduced and I seldom watch an entire full length film these days. I do, however, take a Hive break occasionally and watch a few series that I enjoy.

..I ended up buying seasons of This is US on Amazon, because I didn't want to miss an episode, plus I can watch commercial free!

The series follows the lives and families of two parents, and their three unconventional triplets, and it moves back and forth in time with scenes of the parents before the children were born, as the were triplets were growing up, and now as they are raising children of their own.

It is a heartwarming story.

A Japanese slice of life romance recommended by @sayee has kept me entertained this week. It follows the romance and home and work lives of 4 long time best friends. I like seeing the street scenes and the interiors of homes and businesses and restaurants that are shown as these women go about their days. The characters are delightful and I feel like I have just made an excursion to Tokyo!

The other show I enjoy is The Great British Menu.
It is a popular BBC series that began in 2006 and is now on it's 16th season. Great British chefs compete for the privilege of cooking at an important banquet attended by celebrities and royalty. . I am entertained by the cooking techniques and the creative dishes and presentations that are put in front of the judges.

I am glad you liked it. I am now binge-watching God friended me series, lol. I will try to watch the ones you mentioned here.

We're enjoying The Orville, but it disappeared from our HBOMax app on Roku and Amazon. Luckily, we can still get it on my wife's iPad for some reason...four episodes left.

We also love The Great Pottery Throwdown, also on HBOMax. Season 4 is streaming week-by-week now, and you can binge watch the first three seasons. I guarantee it will have you searching Facebook Marketplace for someone selling a kiln ;-)

Oh! Those sound good, but I don't think I have an HBO account anymore. I wasn't watching enough to justify it. I think I would really like The Great Pottery Throw Down.

Keep your eye out for a free 7 day trial. Binge TGPT, and cancel. You would definitely enjoy it.

My brilliant son worked magic from 150 miles away and I now have HBO on my TV and I am watching episode 1. It's rather like the Great British Baking Show only with clay! You are right, I am liking it!

Glad to hear it! We’re finishing The Orville (on Hulu) now. Funny and thoughtful show.

I just started watching The Orville this week. My wife wasn't interested. But, she started half paying attention while I was watching. Now she's watching it with me. It's a well-done parody.

Heya Melinda!

I've been rewaching some of the French films from the 60s. Last night it was "Last year at marienbad" by Resnais.

I'm having difficulty watching a film, unless it is truly riveting. I keep getting pulled away with curiosity about what is happening on Hive!

Well, if you are a Marvel fan and haven't seen it, I'd recommend Wandavision. Not at all like anything in the film, and actually quite profound and sad. We really enjoyed that one this past month. I actually recommend it to non-Marvel fans too!

I do, too! I started watching The Great British Throw down that @kunschj recommended on HBO and I think I am going to enjoy that one, too. It is about making Pottery and has the same contest format as the Great British baking show.

I am huge fan of Great British Bake Off. I have to find time to write a post about it.
Our HBO got different films and programs. Still I will keep an eye on that Throw down when it will be on.

I know that our Netflix has different shows than what my friends in Canada are watching, so I guess it makes sense that HBO has a different selection, too.

I saw a couple of episodes of 'This is Us'. I didn't like it moving back and forth. 😊

I've noticed this year that is is not jumping around to different time frames quite as much. Maybe it's an effort to reduce the number of necessary actors because of Covid.

I'm finishing up some K-dramas that i watch while jogging. Found a new Swedish series, Snabba Cash, or something like that for the nights.

In this last year, with the lockdown almost always present, I have also dedicated a lot of time to HIVE, and I have learned a lot of things. I admit that I don't watch TV series anymore. In fact, I don't know any of those series you mentioned.

Hive is much more entertaining than TV, plus it provides me with a bit of social life that I no longer have because of Covid!
