LADIES OF HIVE CONTEST #52: EXPERIENCES AND HOW THEY MADE ME

I am the only child of my parents and the only child of my mother. Which means my father has other children.

I never knew my father, basically because he left even before i could understand good from bad. I was never a normal kid. At a young age, i already knew how to mask my emotions and never display weakness. My mother has always been my hero. We left our home town penniless and nineteen years later, I am in my third year in university all because one woman refused to break.

At age thirteen, i was told i had the mind of a twenty year old because i understood and did things no thirteen year old would. However, i tried to be different, i tried to blend in and behave like my peers because i hated being called different. That only got me ten feet deep in depression and i began making bad decisions that honestly, shaped my life today.

I have always looked up to my mother because, she was the pillar and even with my rebellious attitude, she never stopped loving, caring, sharing and hoping I'd change and become better. She was always at my side when no one else was.

As i aged and understood more about life, paying for my mistakes and making up for them, i understood that Life is worth living, no matter how many times you fall, you can still get back up.

I have come very far and in the long run, i have dropped many bad habits– addictions– and inculcated good ones. I've also worked very hard on my self, swallowing bitter truths about myself and worked to change them. The hard work paid off because now, i don't even ask for it but some people (very few), look me in the eye and say, you're the kind of person i want to be like.

My mom never stops singing my praise and saying how proud she is of me and i always try my possible best not to put tears in her eyes. I always love it when she smiles.

I had a whole bag of self esteem issues while growing up but, they're all gone now.

I love myself, in every sense of the word. I work hard so that i can feel better about who i am. I do the right things for peace of mind and if you ask me to turn back time, I wouldn't change one thing about me because those experiences helped me grow. They made me who i am. Bold and Beautiful!

I invite @martharex to participate in this contest.

THANKS FOR READING! 😊

Yes. My mom kept doing what a good mom would do. And she is one of the main reasons I'm not dead.

Mothers have endless patience, always teaching hoping the child avoids the errors she went through, does not always work, however still strive to keep our children safe no matter how old they are.

Very touching story.
We never know what the others have been through. It's so easy to be judgemental 😐

Yes. That's why i try my best never to judge. We don't know why people act or reason the way they do until we have full history

You have received 5 LADY(LOH) tokens for entering the Ladies of Hive contest.

Please note that since our LOH token is still so new, that it will be worth more if we HOLD them for a bit before trying to sell them. Some have been trying to sell them immediately after receiving them, but holding them for a bit will help them to increase in value! We are working behind-the-scenes to try to keep the price stable, but the "sell orders" are hampering the stabilization of the price of this new token. Please hold on to your tokens. Thank you! 🙂

¡Considere esperar! ¡Gracias! 🤗

It is amazing how you healed yourself of the baggage. Your Mom had a lot to do with it!
Congratulations! What a great example to follow.
Thanks for sharing @deraaa.
Good luck with the contest.
Ladies of Hive provides you an avenue to express yourself
While at the same time, share the joys and bittersweet.
I hope that you will likewise engage others.
You will find that the ladies may or may not reflect your interests and passions.
But the recognition of common humanity is the first step in the celebration of our differences.

Yes. I have read a few post and it felt touching that some of them more or less had something to do with my experience. That's where i got the motivation to share mine because i wouldn't talk about it had i not seen someone else doing the same.

I can understand why your mom is so proud of you. It sounds like you learned a lot by taking a difficult path to get to where you are.

It was filled with a lot of trials, yes. Pains and a horde of betrayals. Most of the things i know now, it's from experience and i wouldn't change that for the world. I love who they made me to be and they also strengthened the bond between i and my mother. I'm officially a momma's girl... Lol
