Fun New Book of Inspiration

My friend knows me too well! She saw this book and bought it for me. I am not the only hybrid math geek/needleworker in the world! Much of my knitting is mathematically inspired and I enjoy the technical aspects of knitting. I have created some scarves based on a Fibonacci sequence, for example, one of which is featured in a pattern book.

This book includes mobius and torus shapes to knit as well as studies of quilt patterns and blackwork embroidery patterns. I am so happy to have it on my reference shelf now!

My friend's mother told me that weaving has a lot of math inside it, that you have to count a lot to do whatever it takes. Good talent have those who master this practice :)

What an interesting idea! I hadn't thought of needlework that way.

Thanks for stopping by!
