Hello Hive!

I am very glad that I can share with you my new ideas and follow yours.

I find a lot of useful and interesting here. I must say, it is very great that nowadays people of different ages, different social backgrounds, religions, different nationalities from different parts of the world can be so far and so close at the same time and share their experiences with each other. It's just incredible!

If, honestly, when I pick up a map of the world, the Earth seems not at all big, but when I go on a journey with my family in a car, the dimensions are very much felt).

Quite recently, purely out of curiosity, I decided to look at the list of all the countries of the world in alphabetical order, its length impressed me.

At that moment I realized that in fact I knew very little about other countries, and I learned about the existence of some of them for the first time. I decided to fix this situation with my creative skills. How can I do without it).

I want to release a series of drawings in which I will depict the symbols of a particular country on the background of its flag.

In today's post, I want to present to you the result of my first work, I think it turned out very well.

As you probably already guessed, we will talk about a heavenly place on planet Earth, which is enveloped in hot sunbeams and violent sea waves, joyfully playing on the fabulous white sandy shore.

Nowhere else can you hear more beautiful birds singing, which cut through the heavens with their colored wings, so easily and freely. This land is full of abundance, tall palms beckon with their grandeur, and their fruits are real precious stones. Here it is, the real Jamaica!

But she captivated my heart not only with landscapes, but with sincere faith in God, those people who inhabit this small fabulous island. "Country of Churches" - this is how the locals and especially tourists call Jamaica, who have probably never seen so many Christian churches anywhere with a very low population density in one city.

How nice it is to see when on Sunday morning, people, instead of lounging on the couch for a longer time, go to the Sunday service, get enough of God's word and glorify His Name. From early childhood, Jamaicans instill faith in Christ in the future generation, so the classes of all schoolchildren begin with prayer.

The cross on which Jesus was crucified is a symbol of faith for all Christians who, as you understand, make up the majority of the population of Jamaica.

The second symbol is the Pennant-tailed hummingbird (Trochilus polytmus), which is not accidentally nicknamed the national bird of Jamaica.

She can only be found on this amazing island. The bird itself is considered the most interesting species, its feathers shimmer with rainbow colors and this will enchant.

For my drawings, I use the ibis Paint X application. As for me, the most convenient drawing position, with many useful functions, which, in turn, are completely free.

  1. For the drawing, I used a Japanese calligraphy brush as usual. I adjusted the size of the brush from 30 to 42. In the upper right corner of the working panel I turn on the "brush stabilizer" mode. With it, the contour lines are smoother, which greatly facilitates the work.

  2. After I selected a brush and adjusted it, the first thing I did was draw the outline of the Jamaica flag in black. It should look like a cross. I used a ruler to keep the lines straight.

  3. Using the fill, I gave color to the picture. Everything is ready with the flag.

  4. Opened a new layer (this function is located at the bottom of the working panel).

  1. Then I drew a sketch of the bird, according to which I will completely outline it, on another layer. Using ovals and circles, I roughly depict the position of the head and torso.

  1. On a new layer I outline the contour of the bird and add such elements as eyes, beak, tail, etc.

  1. Well the gauge is almost ready, all that remains is to paint it, again, using the fill.

  1. Now the cross, I depict it on the same canvas where I painted the bird. To beat the curvature, I use auxiliary tools - a ruler. On a new layer I draw the canvas, and returning to the cross, I wipe the lines that will be "under the canvas" with an elastic band.

  1. One more important point. When I paint on new layers, I make the main layer with the flag transparent or invisible. All this in order to make drawing easier.

The drawing is ready!

I am personally, very pleased with the result of the work done, and I hope you will like it too))) Wait for my next posts about other countries, maybe it will be your country :)

Thank you very much for your attention, see you soon!
