Hey, this was a fun week we have a lot of fun stuff going on even with the dip today. I got 2nd place in the first Nascard Tournament see the post about the results there and the idea. It is fun. Thanks for @nealmcsadden for doing it. I am going to go over the battle that put me in second and let @cornavirus win. Once again look at the fight and give me some feedback and you can win 2000 DEC this week. Still up a bit due to donations to me. You can also tell me what you think about the game or any ideas you have to win. As a note no more entries on Steem so going to make this a Hive only giveaway now.

I want to go over the Nascard 2020. It is a fun idea. We all get an account with the same cards. For this first tournament, it was just silver level beta cards with level 1 untamed cards. Future matches will have other cards but always every account has the same cards. No more losing because the other guy has a card you don't. Or because you don't have high enough levels. It was only 2.5 Hive to enter this one and that will change but so will prizes going forward. Each time you play you will earn points for a season ranking and that can get you into the final with big prizes. Make sure to check out the links above to learn more.

So here is the match it was 28 mana with no epic or legendary that took out a few cool cards. I ended up going with life for the golem self-heal. I also went for a bit of a back-row attack combo with 2 sneak guys. I even put my Tree there to take sniper shots and heal up. When I saw the line ups I really thought I had this fight in the bag. Yet what do you think happened? You can watch it [Here](C:\Users\Stephen\Desktop\2020-08-11 16_06_56-Splinterlands - Collect, Trade, Battle!.png) and see and some of it needs to be seen.

Round 1 time. We get our buffs and if you look at it I have a okay set up. He is going to hit first but that is okay I will heal and then I should hit back a lot right. And while the sneak isn't going to work great on a guy with a shield it isn't so bad because one of mine is magic. I do worry that his sneak guy is going to ruin my back but hope for maybe a miss from his slow guy.

20200811 09_13_23Window.png

Round 2 starts and the first round looks like it went okay. I got his tank down to two and should kill him this round right. Sure I missed once but that is okay. I also should get off my attacks with my last guy before he dies and kill his last guy. As long as I do okay on the speed flips I should be fine.

20200811 09_14_52Window.png

Wait what just happened? Round 3 starts and man I missed a tone and lost the speed flip with the golem. So instead of healing he just died. At this point I am worried. I know that I am in trouble. I am also a bit shocked. I know he has dodge but man I missed about 5 times I think.

20200811 09_15_21Window.png

Round 4 starts and I wonder did I maybe do enough. It went better at least not missing him but if you look at the attack orders for this round I am in trouble. My guys left are just too slow. I know it is over and I am bummed as I was on a winning steak.

20200811 09_15_45Window.png

Round 5 starts and it goes how I thought so now I am done. I am still a bit shocked at that second round and have to say that he made what turned out to be a great play going with dodge. Most of the time healing is key but I was just too slow.

Well, I showed you a close fight and a loss for the first time. What did you think of my team? Remember I didn't have the rewards cards to use just beta. I think in the end I made a mistake of not focusing my attacks on the tank. I just didn't like my other options to hit the tank. I also maybe shouldn't have used the two level 1 cards. Let me know what you might have done. Maybe use death?

Now for who won the 2000 DEC from the last post. I know I was a few days late sorry. Hive Link

I'm only now getting back into playing this game. (after taking some much-needed personal time away from life) I am beyond grateful my Guild waiting for me and not kicked my butt to the curb. I almost forgot how much I loved this game...

Welcome back to the game. I get taking a break. I started to use a bot so it takes up a bit less of my time but I play the tournaments. Goodluck in the giveaway

It was a very well played match and I don't think you could have done better with earth splinter. I tried to use snipe to destroy your backline but your earth elemental protected it really well. Your magic sneaker also managed to destroy my cyclops which I was hoping to reserve against melee sneak monsters. Awfully well done but sometimes, a bit of luck can win you the day. Btw, I did miss a 10% miss on the last turn but I guess at that time, it was too late.

Interesting match here, I think it could've been modified a little bit. I don't know if I would have used the Earth untamed sneak attacker. One of my favorite cards on the untamed deck for Life has got to be the failed summoner. I often stick him in the middle to attract the snipers. Although my Earth Elemental isn't a high enough level to get to Heal, I try to stick my healers in the back to catch any of the sneakers. In the middle there, to use some extra points you have leftover given you didn't use the goblin, I would've removed the chariot and stuck in War Chaang. That card has some serious capability and the range is nice, combined with melee.

That of course, all knowing the results of the match. It's hard to determine all of this up front!

Oh ya but that mode has no epics but my mistake I think was going double sneak.

Ah the back to basics ruleset. That one is challenging! I don't know what I would've changed on your deck then. Double sneak is indeed a great way to go. His first snipe card also had 1 unit of armor so it's not like a sniper would've helped much. It just comes down to luck of the draw sometimes, they land an attack but your misses at the critical moment. Those battles are nail biters sometimes!

That was a nice match. Looking at the lineup, I really thought you could have won. But those misses. It hurts, it really hurts. I seriously don't know what better lineup you could have chosen other than this. It looks good enough. I'm sure you chose the best you could from the given cards. The only thing that was proved decisive were the misses.
Anyways, even I am looking forward to this tournament now. Maybe we will face off each other next time hahaha.

Fire team is relying on luck, and it needs an opponent with magic attack to get ruined. I would reconsider positions 5 and 6 of Earth team. At 6th, team needs a better monster for sneak defense and at 5th, needs one with magic attack, a missing component. IMO having all 3 types of attack is good.

Story of making good random generator is long and educative. I can only tell that Splinterlands developing team is doing a poor job here. What you see here for Earth team, I am seeing on daily basis many times. Imagine Reverse Speed and your 1 speed monster missing 2+ consecutive times opponent flying 6 speed monster. That is what I am having in my battles.

Cheers!

Probably a wood nymph would have helped instead of the mele sneak attacker in your lineup.
Adds following benefits

  1. Double heal
  2. Magic attack to his tank
  3. May be an extra health with strengthen

What do you think ? Infact a lower level wood nymph which is slow enough to heal your golem at the end of the round. Your golem could have 8 health that way going in round 2.

Thanks for the giveaway. I also participated in a tournament where everyone wins. Least is that you get your entry fee of 100 Dec back. Such tournaments can attract more low level players.

In my opinion, I would have kept Earth Elemental at the last, since it had healing power, in that way I would not have lost some of the cards from the last.
