Prompt A Day | 2020 Catchword

Half of January has gone. Happy to be doing Prompt A Day challenge by @shadowspub.

Today's chosen challenge is the journal/blogging prompt: Choose a word for this year and explain why.

I couldn't quite recall if it was 2015 or 2017 when I started having a catchword. Back then I read about having a word that you would want to accomplish or achieve for that year. I thought it was a cool idea.

I do recall that my 2017 catchword was DECLUTTER. I tried then, but I didn't quite succeed much. That, however, didn't stop me. The following year, 2018, I added ACT. I figured that it wasn't enough that I wanted to declutter, but that I needed to act on it as well. True enough, the ball started rolling for me that year. By year end, I had a chance to really act on my declutter goal.

Last year, 2019, I had declutter and refurbish as my catchwords. True enough, I had documented my year-long accomplishment on my main blog. I could consider it a success, but my journey is far from over. As I slowly get rid of stuff that no longer serve me, I'm now faced with a bigger problem. I have trimmed down, but I'm left with stuff that are harder to let go. Oh boy! Decisions.. decisions.. they need to be made.

That arrives at my 2020 catchword. I believe that I will choose PERSEVERE as my latest word.

per·se·vere. verb continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success.

With my success last year, I know that I will need to try harder this year. My task list has also grown, so aside from effective time management, I will most definitely need lots of luck!!!
