Prompt A Day | A Day in the Life...

3rd March 2020, 63rd day of 2020 for Prompt A Day challenge by @shadowspub.

It was way past my bedtime the day before when I came upon the hostile takeover issue. I actually sensed something was going wrong but I didn't know where. Upon checking on discord, there seemed to be some commotion going on. Then I read about the witness voting fiasco. Apparently some entity thought of using their power to install a new batch of witnesses. Personally, I don't trust takeovers. I'm all new to the Steem blockchain to understand everything going on, but I've been reading enough to know that the assignment of new Top 20 witnesses -- apparently from nowhere -- is not a good sign for Steem. I looked to my CTP tribe for guidance and am really thankful for updates there, esp. from @jongolson who owns ClickTrackProfit and a staunch believer and supporter of Steem.

Journal / Blogging Prompt: You’ve inherited $5,000 with the condition to spend it on something other than yourself. What would you do?

Honestly, my first reaction was "Awww why couldn't I spend it on more travels?" Or perhaps my home improvement projects. Well, it's hypothetical anyway. It's not like I stand to inherit $5,000 or even any amount anytime soon. LOL!

Let's do some conversions here. So, 1 USD is approximately or roughly 50 PHP (Philippine pesos). It's a give or take as it's sometimes even bigger than 50. The rate changes daily. Roughly $5k will be around 250k PHP. Wow! It's not that huge considering the high cost of living here locally. You couldn't even buy a decent housing with that amount of cash. But it would be enough for business projects on a small scale.

I would probably go for something to do with pets. We are proud and happy pet owners -- guinea pigs and cats. We keep them separately. The guinea pigs stay indoors, while the cats are outdoors. I would love to extend the love and care for animals to rescuing other animals that have been abandoned or left behind by owners. A pet rescue place sounds good, don't you think? It would definitely take a lot of work at the beginning, as I don't think we have a lot of them locally. We do have P.A.W.S. (Philippine Animal Welfare Society) that's located in another part of the metro.

Right now, PAWS does not rescue stray animals. They only deal with those involved in animal cruelty cases. That is largely due to limited funding. Plus, the animals are mostly cats or dogs. I'd love one for small animals like our guinea pigs.

We used to belong to a group of guinea pig owners and breeders on Facebook. But the group is a bit turbulent as it has been going through changes in leadership, et.al. Sounds familiar huh? LOL! Well, I just want a stable one with no power struggle, just plain animal loving and caring. It's good to dream. Who knows? Perhaps this dream becomes a reality some day. ^_^
