Hello everyone and Hive Garden Community, how are you? I hope and pray that we are all always healthy and happy, always keep the spirit to go through the day. As humans, there are times when we lose our enthusiasm and motivation, that's a natural thing, but if every day we are not enthusiastic about doing anything, there seems to be something wrong with us. Perhaps, this famous quote is suitable to start our day:

“Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask what makes you alive, then do it. Because what the world needs are enthusiastic people” - Harold Whitman

Okay, this time I will tell you about the condition of some plants that I care for myself and I love. I am an anthophile, that is, someone who has a passion for flowers. However, I prefer plants that have beautiful leaves. I'm a little sad because these days the weather in my house is very hot and some of my plants are a little damaged, but still growing very well and still beautiful.

Alocasia Jacklyn

Have you ever seen this plant? in Indonesia we call it "Tanduk Rusa" or deer antler, this is a native Indonesian ornamental plant originating from Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. This plant is popular and becomes a lot of talk. I got Alocasia jaklyn from my friend, by exchanging ornamental plants. This method is commonly done by fellow plant enthusiasts to complement each other's plant collections.

Alocasia jaklyn is a very complicated plant, because the original habitat of this plant is in the mountains with an altitude of 800 meters above sea level, and must be planted in a shady place. If exposed to direct sun can burn. Although, it is difficult to take care of it but the Alocasia jaklyn in my house is growing well. When I first got it, this growth was still very small and only grew one leaf, now it has grown rapidly and the leaves have grown beautifully.

Paraiso Verde

Maybe, you've seen a plant like this cafe or coffee shop. At first glance, this plant is indeed popular as an ornamental plant for indoor decoration. Paraiso Verde is a type of philodendron, which is a type of ornamental plant that is also popular this year.

I got this plant from a coffee shop that my husband often visits, initially I got this plant in a damaged and almost dead condition. But I take care of it with love and affection so that the plants can grow back beautiful and charming. Paraiso Verde has a charming characteristic, namely the pattern of white spots on its leaves.

Anthurium Clarinervium

Another name for this plant in Indonesia is elephant ear, probably because of its wide leaf type. Including plants that can be placed in an indoor room. I bought this plant from a local botanist near where I live, I accidentally found this plant in a poorly maintained condition, and it was sold at a cheap price.

I like to buy ornamental plants that are less well cared for and do better care, so that they become beautiful again. You can see that this Anthurium clarinervium that I take care of, has one bud that is growing and maybe if it develops well in the future I will separate it from the mother plant.

Syngonium varigata

This is one of my favorite ornamental plants, the color pattern of the leaves is very unique with gradations of green and white on one leaf.

I bought this plant for IDR 35K with one leaf condition, and now it has grown into several leaves. The price of Syngonium varigata currently ranges from IDR 60k for one leaf, it seems that investing in ornamental plants is more profitable.

Monstera esqueleto

All types of monstera are becoming popular in the last two years in Indonesia, the hallmark of this plant is the pattern of holes in each leaf. Monstera esqueleto has a spectacular price of IDR 500K for one leaf only, I got this plant last August, and now it has two leaves and is going to the third leaf.

Some time ago, when I posted a photo of this plant on Instagram, there was an Instagram user who wanted to buy my Monstera esqueleto for one million rupiah, but I didn't want to sell it and wanted to develop it first.

-Regards-

Great plants - love the antlers! I can see why it's called that. I learnt a new word today - I didn't know anthophiles were flower lovers! cool. Thanks for sharing.
