My ginger plant

I planted my ginger a few months ago. It has been growing slowly. And last two weeks, this "flower-like" bulb started to grow on it. And this morning, seems like some purple-ish petals started to grow too... I wonder how will the flowers look like when it bloom...

And here's the root... I guess my ginger is growing... I wonder how long will I be able to harvest some ginger... 🤔🤔🤔

I will be patient... As long as it is growing healthily... 💪💪💪😁😁😁

Seeing my ginger plant growing is really satisfying... I never thought gardening can be fun before this... Yup, I guess the pandemic did change part of me... How about you?

Wow that is so pretty. I have never thought of ginger looking like this. In fact I have never imagined ginger beyond the root that I get from the supermarket.

Hello @elizacheng,.... Excellent article. Like you, the pandemic gave me some time to plant some plants in my garden, among them parchita and guanabana; and it is pleasant to take care of them and watch them grow. The pictures you show are beautiful. You would be very lucky if you manage to harvest ginger, it is a plant with great medicinal properties.

Thanks for dropping by @trabajosdelsiglo. Yup, this pandemic which leads to lockdown in many countries does bring some changes to our lives. Many more start to look into activities which we don't normally do before the pandemic hit. And gardening for sure is one of it. I hope my ginger plant will grow stronger each and every day. And I hope your garden will be growing well too!

Nice ginger. I've never seen flowers on ginger either. I've ginger going as well in the garden in a few spots. It does take quite a long time but you can also harvest the root as it grows without damaging the plant. I take small pieces time to time. What type of ginger is that?
