π’ Srey-Yuu & Monkey-B Got Rain Boots β
On a recent trip back to Pramaoy my wife decided to buy some rain boots for herself and Monkey-B, not knowing her boots would soon become Srey-Yuu's.
Pramaoy Is The Big City Now π
Β Β Β It seems there's always a reason to go back to Pramaoy lately, so even though we've moved out, we still have to pick up items from the bus station here, and even things like wanting some tofu means a trip to the Pramaoy market.
Β Β Β I waited in the tuk-tuk while the ladies ran into the market. I don't mind going inside the market, but I have to walk with my neck crooked because not only am I too tall, my turban's extra height causes even roof edges to catch me, and even the umbrellas are at eye level.
Shady Pee Stops Are A Must πΏ
Β Β Β On our way back to the mountain it seems it's always me who needs multiple pee breaks, but I am also the one who drinks liters and liters of water per day. My family are seemingly human cacti, not even realizing their thirst until it's time to eat lunch or dinner. I am always reminding them to drink before they get thirsty, but mentioning it too much has the opposite effect.
Unapproved Selfies π€³
Β Β Β I have a cell phone mount in the Ape attached to the windscreen with a suction cup, and as fate would turn out, it's the perfect angle for selfies with Srey-Yuu when I open the camera while driving. Srey-Yuu hates selfies, and she doesn't know that actually makes our selfies even more precious.
Nobody Told Me About Rain Boots π€·ββοΈ
Β Β Β When we got back home on the mountain, I noticed two pairs of super duper cool rain boots, apparently Srey-Yuu and I were left out of this acquisition. Luckily for Srey-Yuu she can simply steal her mom's boots because they now have the same shoe size.
Β Β Β The land here is super sticky when it rains, and the backfill still has few plants growing on it, so we're constantly fighting red stains on our clothes. I guess I will just have to suffer rainboot-less in these troubled times. I don't even know the joy of a rain boot smile, for I never had any as a kid π’.

hi my friend @justinparke as usual, I always monitor, the rumors of your life that you write every time you want to share posts about your daily life,
i don't have enough time today, so i just comment a little bit about what you share this time,
as usual you always tie your beard with rubber, it looks like you need a lot of rubber to tie your beard in a year hehehe ..
Yes, my beard is too shocking for most Cambodians, as well as my hair, so wearing a turban and keeping my beard nice and small makes me seem like less of a freak to the locals π.
Looks like another trip to Pramaoy for some extra rain boots!
That is definitely going to happen soon.
Very cool looking boots, they fit them well! π€
I love those kind of markets, there is always so much cool stuff to explore and look at!
Sensory overload, sights, sounds, smells, even a tiny market is full of activity, even if just the sellers gossiping and joking during downtime.
My friend is present. Indeed, on the way, I need supplies, including buying rain boots.
I think I need to experience the smile that only comes from owning a pair of rain boats.
You're right, there is lot for sale in Pramaoy market, until sugar canes.
BTW, How much is the price of the sugar cane there ..?
A small sugarcane juice is 1,500 riel here, about 38 cents USD. In the countryside, and especially places that grow lots of sugarcane, it's possible to get a small glass of sugarcane juice for 13 cents USD.
Well...
That was a good prices.π
Too funny about those selfies! That selfie is absolutely precious.
Srey-Yuu still doesn't understand her resistance only makes the selfies more memorable. There is nothing I hate more than a staged photo, and Srey-Yuu feels the same too. Because of this I try to always set up very staged family photos, and her reaction to these situations is always classic.
Hahaha! That's awesome! She'll clue in one day and be both incredibly amused and mortified.
Such a nice trip. Does the suction mount hold well? Hahaha.. SreyYuu's expression is epic. =) What photos does she like to take?
So far so good with the suction mount, although I suspect it will work less and less each time I take it off and put it back. I think Srey-Yuu prefers to use Mom's photos if possible when making posts. She seems to enjoy the process of making a post somewhat, but getting her to take the photos for a post is really hard.
Hahhaahha luckily the suction mounts are not expensive, so if it doesn't work that well, the best thing is to just buy a new one. Ooo wow.. I somehow understand SreyYuu more. The growing up and being aware of self... ππ Have a great day. Thank you for your wonderfully indulging comment.. π

I also didn't drink water on time when I was younger, but when I started working an office job in an air conditioned room, I started hydrating more regularly and now it's become a part of my life. So maybe they'll make the switch eventually.
I know that whenever I have a long drive or journey ahead, I'll bring drinking water back because I don't want to stop that often. But the minute we've reached our destination, I'll chug the water π .
I am the same way if I'm riding in public transport of some kind. I'll bring the water, but not drink it in fear of not reaching the official pee stop. When I'm driving the tuk-tuk, I drink like an elephant and stop frequently.
Hahahaha, yes because you're in control of the stops π.
This reminds me of the times I had to go off route in traffic jams, because I really had to go and knew that someone I know lives nearby π€£π€£π€£.
Me stepping off the bus in Suriname, about to burst.
I know the struggle... And me running out of my parents' car and opening all the gates and doors and not looking back π€£.
Things that you experience in rural area but it will not be matter after a while you live there. Yet, You can get small stones in the creek to harden the ground.
I have been collecting big flat river rocks to use as stepping stones. They are heavy to bring up from the river, so I just add one or two every time I go to swim and come back. Soon I'll have enough of them to do a river rock path so we can stay out of the mud.
It's always interesting to see the market in Pramaoy, the simple but complete traditional market makes me want to shop there too, but unfortunately it's too far for me.
I'm curious about the vehicle you have, I really want to drive it and feel an exciting adventure with it, in Indonesia there is a vehicle that is almost similar to it, the name is "Bemo" and it is now a special icon for our country's capital, it's just that it's rarely used
I've never heard of the Bemo, I'll have to google it and see what they are. Bajaj and Atul tuk-tuks from India are also sold here now.
I see your two little girls really enjoy playing in the rain, surely there you will always be able to feel the rain falling.
Because it always rains in the mountains.
Sometimes we wish the rain would stop, but then I realize the rest of Cambodia is suffering extremely high temperatures, so I feel lucky to be cool at night here.
You look really happy in the pictures - mountain life must agree with you!
It is about as close to living in USA as I will ever get here. Very much like Tennessee here, especially all the little mini rivers with super cold water.
The children look so happy in the rain boots. Is it the rainy season already? I also drink lots of water and also have the problem to pee often. This is compounded by the fact I have an enlarged prostate.
Sounds like you need a camel hump for water storage. I think it's still technically not the rainy season yet, but I get the sense this microclimate's rainy season comes earlier and ends later than the rest of the country.
