Situ Cibeureum in Bekasi is a tourist site that is not well managed.

The location is in Mustika Jaya, Bekasi.
I rode my motorcycle on Sunday with my son. I decided to go to Situ Cibeureum. Situ is a Sunda language that meas a lake.
The ride took me an hour. I looked for a parking space to take some photos. At the location, there were many riders who parked on the road on the bank of the lake.

On the side of the road, there are big trees that make the air fresh. However, on the side of the road, there are many buildings made of bamboo and wood that are not neatly arranged.

On Sunday, there could be more than 1,000 visitors who want to enjoy the cool air on the side of the lake. You can see in the picture above, I came here at around 11 o'clock.
The semi permanent buildings on the bank of the lake are food counters that offer various menus like satay, bakso, and grilled fish. Some people stopped here just to have a cup of coffee. I ordered a cup of coffee and some snacks with my son.

There are no clean public toilets here, I just found one.

Here is the door of the public toilet. On the door was written Berak :Poop and Kencing :Pee 3000. You should pay 3000 IDR or $0.2 for pooping and pee. 😏😏

I did not think I needed to pee on the location.

There was also a fun boat that was moving on the lake. I was not sure how much a passenger should pay for the ride on the boat.

I got down to the lake. I took photos of some amazing views of the lake, but the banks of the lake looked dirty with some garbage.

This is the look of the lake on the other side. There are many semi permanent buildings made of wood and bamboo on the side of the lake. Those are food sellers that sell some menus.

There were many visitors this morning.

Cibereum is always crowded on weekends. There are thousands of people visiting here. I think this is a tourist site that will bring in a high regional income if managed properly. However, I don't know if the government officials may be sleeping in a five-star hotel or busy campaigning to get them re-elected in the general election.

That is a class problem in any tourism object in Indonesia.
Some reason from my point of view is that there's a lack attention from the government to make things looks good and organized, and also the behavior of our people is mostly bad.
Breaking the rule in any tourism object is still ver common, and littering seems one of our hobbies. :(

too many problems all start from the government , with high local tax income is not difficult to invest in developing the site.

This seems to be quite standard with attractions all over Thailand as well. I have been to "National Parks" that we have to pay to get into them and there was garbage all over the place. They claim that the admission fee is for park maintenance but they obviously aren't doing that. They normally don't even have very many bins / trash cans either.

Here, there are no more bins too. There are many plastics wastes everywhere. I do not know what the local government think about the location.

If the government would do something about this to improve the situation of the site, it will definitely be a great boost to your economy. Seeing people visit the place despite it being not well-managed is a sign that people will visit it more it was developed.

For sure, for parking fee if they charge 5000 IDR / motorcycle, on weekend they can get 5,000,000 IDR or $344. There are more than 1000 thousands visitors every weekend with this condition. The food stalls also get a lot of benefit for local sellers to earn profit from the visitors.

I always feel sad whenever I see this kind of attraction being mismanaged. Especially those attractions that are with nature. They should've implemented some rules and regulations that could preserve the cleanliness of the place. Yes, nature will heal itself but not with so much exploitation and improper waste disposal. I hope they will recover soon.

That is true that nature will heal itself but the unstopable waste disposal will make the nature unable to destroy the accumulation of the unorganic substances. Good will is one of the key to make the environment clean and healthy. Sadly, there are no local eco friendly organizations that care about the situation. I am not sure , will the potential will be like this forever or not.

I hope it won't end up as a trashed-out place. I hope someone will take the initiative to clean it up.
