Jogging In The Morning With My Son

avatar

It was Friday morning. I went jogging with my son. It was 7 AM. It was a cloudy day. The sun usually shines brightly in the morning, but today it was cloudy. Last night there was heavy rain. The temperature was around 27 - 29 degrees Celsius. In Indonesia, the temperature around 20-25 degrees Celsius is categorized as a cold, so I could not imagine if I lived in a sub tropical country with a temperature of under 0 degree Celsius. I might be frozen LOL.

I live in a village in Bekasi. Bekasi is a district in West Java. It was about 2 hours east of Jakarta. I do not live in the center of Bekasi city, but I live in the country side, around 1 hour from the center of Bekasi.
The area is under development of many housing residences. Many developers of real estate are building housing near my area.

This is one of the areas that is going to be housing. There are some big trees that have been cut. The area is actually fertile land, but the government gave permission to build housing. I am not sure of the reasons why the government has a policy that takes up fertile areas.

He is my son. He walked in front of me. He is eight years old. He should study at school, but these days, school is online because of the covid crisis. It has been a year since my kids did not have offline classes. Most of my kids' activities do school work at home and play out.

We also passed by a TOL street development. The street is under development, but today there were no activities of workers. It has been more than a month since I did not see any activities of the workers.

There was also a morning market. It was located around 50 meters from my house. Every morning, many moms buy vegetables, meats, and daily needs here. The market looks dirty, but there are always a lot of people here in the morning.

Don't be surprised if you visit Indonesia

The city looks disorganized. That is my country. The country is developing. You can see in the picture that the street vendors have built non permanent food stalls. The vendors sell their products in a small charged or free area. They have to pay the local authorities for the counter. The charge is for the security and the trash truck that takes out the garbage from the street market.
Indonesian people are very welcome to foreigners. They like talking and joking. The joke may have different senses in other countries. In the covid era , most people are hit by the economic crisis. Today, the government applies lockdown but the citizens do not earn the funds from the lockdown. That is why more people still do activities in the market. The lockdown works on factories, malls , cafes, restaurants, and city trade centers. In rural areas, the activities of people are still the same. I am not sure how long the situation will last. Many workers were laid off because of the lockdown. I was also laid off by my school in July 2021. I used to be a teacher. My school is not a state school. This year, the entry students were under 50%, so the school management could not afford to pay more teachers. Thanks for reading hope you enjoy my story and my photos. I would like to greet @txatxy , Here is a post about my country where I live.
