Hello everyone| I had an exciting Wednesday walk today! Why? It's because I was able to bump into these different varieties of Coleus flowers though the flowers itself seems insignificant because the leaves are more attractive than their flowers.

Coleus scutellarioides

I was at a gasoline station nearby to pick some deliveries which I ordered online. I was looking inside the booth if the caretaker was inside who happens to be a family friend. I had been aiming for these plants every time I had my tank refilled. Alas! I've finally catched up with her this time. After a few chats about our plant collections, I asked her if I can have some of those beautiful Mayana plants.

The original plant in dark violet color is called Mayana in our native tongue but it's not there. Anyways, you can find it anywhere along the road. My friend graciously cut some parts of each kind in 17 species! These are only few among the vast species of Coleus Scutellarioides. As per studies conducted by botanists, Plectranthus scutellarioides is the accepted name of Plectranthus under family Lamiaceae. I was overwhelmed to have collected 17 species of Coleus right at that moment!

I soaked the trimmings with a little amount of water to relive its growth. I usually soak it for 3 days before replanting them.

I ordered these root grower online with the instructions to mix 1 sachet over two bottles of 1.5 liter bottle.

Using the Plant Identifiers, I have searched the identifications of each variety:

Result:

I have learned that these kind of plants belonged to the flowering plants which belongs to the Lamiaceae Family of Plectranthus scutellarioides or coleus.

These beautiful Coleus plants were given a description of each for distinction especially when they are bought online.

I guess this is one of the reasons why they are planted closely for possible cross-pollination that will soon bear new offsprings!

I am pretty sure that I will be able to find for shades of these incredible Coleus plants on my coming Wednesday walk!

Thank you for dropping by my page and thanks for the collaboration of @tattoodjay and Ms. @elizacheng. I am beginning to make a documentation of my ornamental plants. It needs hard work to make an identification of each but I will see to it that it will be done religiously for recording purposes. Now, my plants will finally have their names! It made ME smile!

Till then,

@Sarimanok
