Washed in the Blood

Rebirth through Christ is confusing to a lot of people. Not so much the term rebirth or reborn, but the very idea that we are somehow worthy of such love.

The world likes to cater to our egos and tell us we're worth it no matter what we do, that we're innately good but the truth is, we aren't. Nothing we have done deserves the grace and compassion Jesus has shown for us and make no mistake about it, it's only by His grace that we are saved.

When we're born on earth, we come out and open our eyes and everything is new. Everything is different. It's a whole new world. It's the same through our salvation.

When we are spiritually reborn through Christ, we open our eyes and everything is different. When your sins are washed away and you start to realize that God doesn't just love righteous people but He loves real sinners, everything looks different. The way you see yourself is different. The way you see the world is different. The way you see God is different.

"For God so loved the world, as to give His only begotten Son; that whosoever believes in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting" John 3:16

It says for God so loved the world. Guess what? That includes you. And while it may not be by our own acts or deeds that we are saved but by what Jesus has done on the cross, don't for a second think that you are the exception to His promise. Your sins are forgiven. You have life with God because He has mercy when you are born again. All you have to do is accept Jesus into your heart and believe in Him. Amen!?

Amen!

Interesting post @jangle, you don't have to be in a religion to do this either to do this, nor do you have to run out and join one your loved anyways.

The Sinners Prayer
Dear Father,

I now believe that Jesus Christ is Your only begotten Son, that He came down to our earth in the flesh and died on the cross to take away all of my sins and the sins of this world. I believe that Jesus Christ then rose from the dead on the third day to give all of us eternal life.

Lord Jesus,

I now confess to You all of the wrong and sinful things that I have ever done in my life. I ask that You please forgive me and wash away all of my sins by the blood that You have personally shed for me on the cross. I am now ready to accept You as my personal Lord and Savior. I now ask that You come into my life and live with me for all of eternity.

Father, Jesus – I now believe that I am truly saved and born again.

Thank You Father.
Thank You Jesus.

Absolutely. Thank you for reminding us of that. Religion can't bring salvation. For sure.

I do believe it's important to find fellowship in your faith and to find a good bible preaching church to help keep your life focused on Christ. But as far as salvation goes, that's through Christ not religion. People often get to two confused.

Everything is not different you have to make your own choices in life as you know I'm not very good at that I have been there yes you feel great when that happens there's a feeling of acceptance you should feel something wonderful but it doesn't make anything different okay we all go through this and it's something in our life and we just let be and be yourself and that's what you're doingI got offended in case you said it depends and that's what I got angry about I am so sorry for your friend and I'm so sorry for you

Thank you Cheryl. There is no need to apologize because I'm not upset or angry with you. If you want to talk about it more, you can always private message me.

It does make things different when you start to see things through God's love. That doesn't mean you lose accountability. We are all still responsible for our choices as you said and we do often make the wrong choice which is why we need God's grace.

I do appreciate your comment and wish that you would not worry so much.

If Christ died for all, then why do some end up in hell?

Perhaps κόσμος doesn't mean quite what you have been taught in that context.

Thanks for your comment. My answer would be...the same reason some people, who had really loving parents growing up and a wonderful childhood, end up in prison. It's based on their own actions. Christ died for all, the world, but not everyone accepts Him. We have free will of choice. And also we have every opportunity to give His grace a chance to work in our lives. But not everyone accepts it.

Yeah I have big issue with what the world says is 'hell'.

It's all about choice, and worship...God didn't make us robots to do his bidding...He wants us to come to Him willingly and out
of love.

If you choose not to, 'hell' in my understanding of scripture means a ceasing to exist, complete separation from Christ....

Not this eternal burning in fires forever. That's very pagan. Makes no sense for a God of love to do that to creatures he made and did not have a choice whether to be born or not.

Yeah I have big issue with what the world says is 'hell'.

I reject the traditionalist notion of "hell" aka the eternal conscious torture chamber and believe it is biblically untenable with a proper understanding of language and context.

Instead I see a doctrine known as conditional immortality which some may call annihilationism. That is, in a nutshell, eternal life is conditioned on Christ and the penalty for sin is, as the Scriptures themselves affirm, is death.

Not forever in the eternal tickle chamber. No. Death. A cessation of existence. A death that never ends.

The proliferation of the traditional view is a result of failing to understand and proper interpret the figurative language i.e. the worm that doesn't die and fire never quenched Mark 9:48.

This coupled with the Platonic dualism view of the soul and you have the formula for the traditional view although it is argued this was not the view of the early church.

I'll answer your second point in another but I do have resources for conditional immortality if you are interested.

Hi @jangle. When you really read the Bible, you see how so many influential people were simply sinners and God loved them.

Working in the Psych Hospital, there are people who "feel" God can't forgive them and I know they have accepted Jesus. I ask them do you think God loved Moses? They say yes. Have you ever killed anyone? They say "no." I say did you know Moses killed an Egyptian?

I talk about David, Paul... It really is just a feeling that we aren't forgiven, if we are born again. Great article!

BTW, I found you while surfing the traffic exchanges so your campaign is working!

That is so fantastic. When a person can really grasp that concept, it is literally life changing. That's so great that you tell them those stories. He didn't come for the righteous, He came for the sinners.

Also, thank you so much for sharing that my campaign is working :) I needed to read that today!
