Help! - My Account is Being Abused!

I was talking to @steevc this morning about abuse and it getting more prevalent the more the token price rises.

A memory emerged in my mind of around two years ago when a certain @landofcrypto took a dislike to me and went on a flagging rampage that lasted for around a month.

Steemword.JPG

I took a look at this account which is now effectively dead. Good, another wanker who has left.

All this happened in the STEEM days, so I fired up steemworld.org to find that he has also powered down that account too.

Landofcrypto.JPG

Before that happened, I noticed my STEEM account was being used by the very same scammer voting farm that is abusing HIVE.

The cheek of it! They are using my giant vote of $0.00 and gaining themselves valuable vests!

For information, these are the accounts that are farming HIVE and pumping out 36 shit-posts posts a day EACH.

@memetasia. @schoolhumor, @cryptoindex, @fiftysats, @superheroes, @beercraft, @jehovahwitness, @starwarz, @gamingmemes, @bemotivated

The farm is using posting keys from an old voting service on STEEM that I once naively used when I started my life there.

These accounts are doing exactly the same thing on HIVE and are taking from the reward pool daily.

Oneoftheaccounts.JPG

...'are these posts worth 5c - 7c each. That's around 36 per day x 10 accounts? It's great for the scammers, and bad for us who want HIVE to be abuse free'...

It makes no sense that a certain whale who I will not mention is voting these posts up and giving the scammers a daily payout.

It is his stake, so he can do what he likes. What we need is something to dissuade these scammers and to take their shady business back to STEEM.

Getting no rewards would do the trick, and it works, they give up for a while, and then when they think we have forgotten about them, start it all up again.

A down-voting BOT would be perfect if anyone is up for it.

Steempeak.JPG

...'I don't know why the PeakD guys still give STEEM any support. Leave them with Steemit.com I say'...

As for my STEEM account, I am tempted to not do anything as I no longer use STEEM and don't give a flying shit about it anymore.

I made a half-effort to change my passwords, but alas I no longer have the RC’s to even change a password.

Authorities.JPG

...'plenty of authorities can use my posting key. I don't care anymore'...

So if some kind soul wants to delegate 15 STEEM or so to me for a few days, I will change my passwords. I am sure as hell not buying any of that severely over-priced token to gain the RC's needed.

It's what comes with decent token prices, this is actually the time to check for these abuses and curb them. When people hold higher stakes, they become responsible partly to upholding the wellbeing of the chain and in this case it's no difference even if people chose to use their stake in ways they deem fit.

I think something will happen soon so curb this farm. I'm here to expose it to you all.

We need a bot army with the same voting system as Steembasicincome just with downvotes and manual adding of accounts!

That could do the trick!

I am happy to use my DV power to help mitigate this farm. The less they abuse, the more we all get for the good stuff.

Holy kak. That's annoying as hell that your keys got compromised. Even in that shit show network. Was it steemvoter?

Two ticks I will see if I can delegate you something. I think I have 40 SP on am account somewhere

Edit: that's weird. I had all account with 25sp but when I go to delegate it I only have the option to power down

I think it was an old voting trader service called steemengine (not the curation group now RIP). In the very early days I joined and it took posting keys. We think the person behind it is using all these posting keys on dormant accounts for the mass abuse.

No matter about the delegation, it's not a big deal.. and it's just.. well STEEM.

Although some try it on here it is a world apart from the Steemy, I saw so much bad behaviour there I never ceased to be astonished. You wouldn't believe that so many c*&ts could actually exist

@superheroes does much better on STEEM. 25c per pop per crap post! I can't believe I am voting this shit up. I remember talking to @anthonyadavisii about this very account while sweating in Bangkok. !WINE.

Excellent! Delegation removed and mission accomplished!

I'm glad I've served of some help in this dangerous & critical mission. Hahahaha

However, I can't help but wonder why if in a situation apparently "as serious as this", you wouldn't have been willing to silently invest $16,78695 buck$ to buy those 15 Steems you needed, make a quick powerup and instantly solve furtively the bloody massacre by yourself in silence if this ugly situation actually was stealing so much of your good sleep. LoL

Heey @slobberchops. :)

I find @meesterboom is right. Directly from the Steem wallet the only option in the STEEM POWER section available is to power down.

I have a bit of SP over there as to be able to delegate you those 25SP at least so you can change your passwords. But you would have to act fast to make that operation. Because I'm noticing that whoever now is using your account is spending its Resource Credits upvoting and shit.

Let me know if you still need the delegation. I think I have walkaround and alternative process to delegate you those 25SP.

Cheers!!

Thank you @eturnerx. :)

The first LUV tokens that I have. I think hahaha. Btw, how many LUV tokens I need to have in my wallet to be able to spread these around? Only Five?

If it's so, I'm afraid that I'm still gonna need of someone else who loves me so much that is willing to give me the two LUV tokens that I'm still missing. LoL

Well @slobberchops. I did the test and it worked!!

You have now 15SP to do your shit asap. Let me know if it was useful to you.

Cheers!! :)

I have abandoned my Steem account and it doesn't look like anything is using it to vote. There would be no point in my posting there as it is censored.

There are various accounts that are getting rewards by various means whilst not actually being read by anyone. Those you listed are copying the posts over and they still refer to Steem. We do need a downvote bot we can delegate to as doing it manually is tedious when there can be dozens per day on each account. I assume they have a script to generate them, so we need to fight back with code.

There are also the self-voters who primarily use their VP on themselves. That is just selfish and can be lucrative.

Hive is by no means as bad as Steem. Over there I have seen posts in Chinese with 1 comment and $400 in votes. Unfortunately someone is propping up $Steem so it still has value.

We need people who care about Hive to deal with the abuse. Delegating to bots that do the downvoting is fairly safe if they worry about retaliation. I still delegate to @steemflagrewards that does some flagging.

I occasionally look on STEEM to see what's happening, but at the end of the day, it's their business. I don't care anymore as I have no stake there.

The farm however, needs to be tended... with some on-going weedkiller.

That's nasty!!! But indeed, with increasing prices come gold diggers looking for easy money...

They only recently started up again. Now both tokens are rising, it is worth their while again.

Indeed, and the same was noticable in the old Steem days... a lot of (bad) activity when the tokens were going higher, and a lot less once the downfall started... Always the same... But most of the times, it's the (good) ones that are holding on that are getting the real rewards!

Hit me up in Discord if you don't get any takers. I don't have much left over there, but I might be able to help you out.

That sucks that they are taking advantage of you like that.

Thanks mate, @por500bolos helped me out with a 1 hour delegation, and the keys are all changed now. I mean.. how would I have slept at night?!

What a good use for a token I sit on in hopes for a pump so I can dump!

I haven’t gone through all of the replies but just catch me in a dm and I will take care of you if you haven’t already got it sorted.

Even the little things make a difference and taking care of them when they are small is what efficient and responsible community members do.

I still wonder, why the price of steem is so high - may be one last time JS is doing that to dump his stake !!

HIVE seems to follow it up after a while. If that's what it takes.. then STEEM can moon for me!

Hmm... could adding downvote capabilities to Hive.Vote fix this? E.g. you set up an 'anti-fanbase' for these accounts you've noticed, I follow your downvote curation trail... ?

I'm glad you replied.. I was just looking at your posts. Interesting that Twitter brought you here. You are suffering from second post $0.00 syndrome I see, something that happened to me just over 3 years ago.

I'm sure @steevc will correct that... hehe.., yes the keys.., it's all fixed now as someone gave me a little help. Welcome to HIVE.

Thank you and thanks for solving my second post syndrome. Yes, Twitter can be useful, for some things. I manage much easier now when I found Mars's member list.

Ctime is also upvoting spam commenters also but they use a lot of delegated HP bought on dlease so Hivewatchers is now blacklisting users who delegate to him to try and get them to remove their delegations. I think those few accounts you listed are the tip of the iceberg because he upvoting a lot of peoples comments who are totally innocent.....perhaps!

Removing the authorizations did not help. The private keys must be renewed as well.

Ahhh how annoying is this. Even if you arent using it anymore, it is crazy to see that someone else still is. Sucks!

After my oktober hack with changing my steem Password i have accideny locked myself without even the option of terminating my account there which would even be better.

But you know..same as for you..it would be better to just not look at it anymore at all. And indeed? Hopefully the scams and abuse stays low here because damn that was annoying

Unbelievable... This is exactly the sort of reason that I immediately changed my keys when we moved to Hive. When I first started using Steemit, I put my key directly into the website. I would not be surprised if JS is capturing people's keys at this point. I am the same as you, though. I believe several apps over there still have my posting key and I don't care.

I also 2nd that @peakd should stop supporting steem in any way. It is a complete scammer platform at this point. I am absolutely disgusted and utterly dumbfounded as to how the hell Steem is $1.20 right now. Is anyone even doing any development on it at all? Makes me sick, to be honest.

Funny story SteemPeak.com turns off all posting features and today and end of the month shuts down entirely. We haven't developed a single thing on it since we started working on Hive over a year ago.

What is steem?

Kidding, but as @steevc said, I use my steem not anymore. Just logging into that once in two month.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the #BeerSaturday or the #Metalweekend with a good !BEER
